Subject: So, they can't have a BR... or a pistol.

Oh yeah It's Rayzed.

Would be cool if those Humans are descendants of the spirit of fire.

Consider this:
1.Spirit arrives on the planet.
2.Humans can't escape the planet,so they are stuck to live there
3.To be able to fight hostile Forerunner constructs they will have to modify their weapons.

That's my 2 cents for explaining the reason of UNSC forces inside the planet.

I would rather it be Cole and his men. I've never been big when it came to the Halo Wars story. I know it's canon, but it just isn't good.

[Edit] By Cole and his men, I'm referring to Admiral Cole after his 'disappearance' mentioned in Halo Evolutions.

What the above person says makes sense. I read some info where there are groups of disorganized UNSC forces on the planet, and it is HINTED that they are at war with each other.

What i'm thinking is, the Spirit of Fire AND Admiral Cole both landed on this planet. Not only this, but the insurrectionist that was in love with Cole could have possibly also landed on this planet.

It is a strong possibility that Cole faked his death so that he can go back with his insurrectionist lover.

Maybe the Spirit of Fire crew simply didn't agree with Cole loving an insurrectionist, thus creating an insurrectionist vs UNSC war on the planet??

That would really be an amazing storyline and would tie things in together.

I was thinking of having it so you can pick which side you want to be on, but that would be a bad idea because this is simply not an RPG, and it would break canon.

I'm saying that it is very possible that what he sees at the end of the teaser is the Onyx shield world...

"Upon the powering up of the Halos, the Antechamber is always reachable by and via specific Slipstream Translocation Devices, however, the Core Room is only accessible for a short time and duration after the Halos are activated." - Halo: Ghosts of Onyx

It is very possible that the activation of the installation could make John accessible to the shield world...

The Core Room was located deep within Onyx, so when the planet blew up, so did the Core Room, so there's no way in from there.

It is my understanding that ONI knew about this planet and that there is Navy and Marines stationed on the planet.

It would be neat exploring the Earth-like interior of the planet (forests, mountains, deserts, arctic, jungle) and finding UNSC garrisons or hidden supply drops and recon teams.

How would they know about this planet?

If it really is beyond the Orion Arm, they really shouldn't. I'm taking the "leaked" info with a grain of salt.

IMO, having UNSC there for some random reason = ruining the possible awesome campaign.

Having Chief be completely alone (bar Cortana) has great character development possibilities.

Agreed, not keen on the idea myself. I think an entirely alien setting is in order this time.

Cole faked his death to go with his wife and her fleet to settle on a planet and make a colony far away from the war...

Admiral Cole was a top commander in the UNSC, I wouldn't be surprised if he had intel on this planet from ONI. I think it would make sense to see him there since it would be the perfect spot that no one would look at, especially during the war.

Fill in the gaps, how would ONI know about this place early in the war?

And why would Cole have that data? If he had that data, then ONI/UNSC command would simply jump out and check for him there...

I am saying this assuming the details leaked are true. The details say ONI knew about this planet, and have been studying for a while. Cole is a respected commander, I'm sure he has enough respect to get information from ONI.

And there are UNSC forces on the planet. So perhaps a search squad was sent, but then got shotdown or pulled into the planets gravity?

Look at that planet surface, the short about Cole in evolutions specifically said he most likely went to some distance planet to start a farming colony. The world in halo 4 has no good farming surface :X.

But your forgetting that the planet has an inner surface that actually has land and water....

Would the ONI/UNSC even know about those with passing scans, much less how to get there?

It's far-fetched, Cole would know ONI and UNSC would go there anyway, and his rebel lover and her small fleet would cause trouble. He'd go someplace the UNSC couldn't find him.

For Carnage Apply Within - Fatum Iustum Stultorum

"Do not mistake your rank and number for superiority. The oldest child may learn from the youngest."

Regardless of the explanation, you know the reasoning is far fetched when it takes two pages of forum posts to simply come to a conclusion as to whether or not it would be possible to have UNSC weaponry appear.

Just thought I'd point out the obvious.
