Frankie has stated that there will be a canonical explanation for this all. Also, it's not a jetpack, it's an EVA thrusters pack in the back plates of his armour.
I might also add that this is just a CGI trailer. It is not a representation of what is actually going to happen in the final game, it's a teaser designed to be exciting and set the tone for the game. Use your brain, the Halo 3 CGI trailer wasn't a part of Halo 3; neither was Reach's.
There's something called overreacting, it's what you're doing right now.How am I overreacting? Can you hear the tone of my thoughts as I type? So first of all, I know that aspects of the CGI will not be in the game. So don't think you're smart for saying what everybody knows. Second, they wouldn't have some aspects in the CGI trailer if it wouldn't be in the game. Third, there can be no canonical explanation because the books clearly states that the back portion of his suit is the power core. It also explains that every time the Spartans went on space missions, they would "take" the thruster packs. Even though they were wearing armor. So obviously, the thrusters were separate. You and your ignorant self. Read a book please.
Mark 5=/=Mark 6
It is very posible they added the thrusters in the mark 6 suit.
Also
You and your ignorant
lulz
No, it isn't.
Fred, Linda, and Will all got Mark 6 as well, but they NEVER used the thrusters in GoO.
On top of that, if they had added thrusters, you'd think the technician would have mentioned it during Halo 2, when he was giving you the run down of the armor. Guess he was just drunk.
Bottom line, there is no canonical source that supports the claim that Mark 6 has built in thrusters.
Aside from all this, Chief is not wearing the same armor from Halo 3. That's a fact. Whether there are new components added on top of the base Mk. 6, or a new suit completely doesn't matter.
