Self-proclaimed genius.
Roam the streets with a sign, "will love for false hope."
I like The Library. I think people hate it for two reasons.
1) They got lost. Which I never once did for some reason.
2) It's a different style of gameplay. More akin to the run and gun survival horror of Left 4 Dead. You really had to fight to survive against them while keep pushing forward. It was nice.
3) They want to complain about something.
Yeah, so, I put three reasons. The Library offered a very important piece of Forerunner-Flood backstory, told you more about 343's character, informed you of how you even fit into the puzzle, and offered a very moody and complex level design with hordes of enemies. I considered it to be one of the better examples of good level design. Definitely a little better than 343 Guilty Spark. It's too bad people don't like the difference in gameplay nor care about the story the level reveals. It might not have been the best level but it is by no means "The worse level in the franchise." I'd throw that to Cortana, the tutorials trying to pass themselves off as a full fledged mission, or the Halo 2 ending. Yes, that ending cutscene counts as a level that never was...
I'm glad 343 is not changing the level. But I am curious as to how gimmicky it's going to look with the new visual cues put in to guide people. "Okay, Spark went that way and is yelling at me to hurry it up. That way is bright green and full of Flood. This way is bright red and doesn't have any enemies. I wonder if there's a Terminal down the red path... Nope. I just wasted another 2 minutes of my life. Thank you, 343, you jerks." Lol.
