Maybe by the time this game comes out Window Vista has already became the medium.

Maybe they are trying to get bungie to start practice making games on the new system type.

Bill gates gives a lot of money to charity and stuff, but is still a barbarian when it comes to business... or thats how is see it.

1. It's good business sense, suck it up, thats life
2. We know nothing about the plans for Halo 2PC or Vista; Vista could provide Halo 2 PC with greater flexibility.

Sometimes you gotta roll with the punches.... or just play Halo 2 on the Xbox????

Also, you do not need to buy a new computer, mearly a new OS. Still expensive, but not as bad. But if the XP and Vista are different enough, it wouldent make sense to develop for both of them. Bungie's next project is going to be on 360, even though not everybody has one, and not everyone wants to pony up for one.

You suck, Bill Gates. You truly do. Always having to put new games on next-gen platforms.

Oh no, Mr. Gates, don't allow Bungie to make Halo 2 for the XP. *Gasp* You'd lose money, Mr. Gates, that you would! Oh no, it's not like you have TENS of BILLIONS of dollars lying around at home!
Don't insult Bill Gates like that. You apparently have no idea what he's been doing to help the world. He doesn't care as much about money as you would think. Also, why stick with current-gen? Isn't it better to work on the future?

Halo 2 being released only on Windows Vista is like Halo 3 being released only on the Xbox 360

Evolution happens things move on let it go

Half-Life 2 which is way better than HAlo 2 (IMO) can not run on Windows 98 SE

there hasn't been an outcry to make Halo 3 run on the Xbox 1 now has there

Eventually I'm sure we will all have Windows Vista (raise your hand if your typing your threads on a Win 98 SE machine)

Didn't think so

Or we can just wait 2 or 3 years untill Halo 3 gets released on the PC.

And Bill Gates needs more money because...?

2. We know nothing about the plans for Halo 2PC or Vista; Vista could provide Halo 2 PC with greater flexibility.
Yeah, but imagine all the people getting rid of their old computers just to play Halo 2 Vista. Bill Gates knows nothing; absolutely nothing. He doesn't need anymore business. He doesn't realize that newer isn't always better. People would like it just as much on XP. Better yet--what about backwards compatibility? Why is that NOT an option? I don't blame Bungie, mind you...I blame Bill Gates. Microsoft owns Bungie, Gates owns Microsoft, and I'm GONNA PWN GATES.

Sometimes you gotta roll with the punches.... or just play Halo 2 on the Xbox????

Okay, if people should just play it on the Xbox, then why bother release it all over again on a brand-new Windows? The only new feature is map creations, which you already have on Halo PC. Halo 2 Vista is virtually nothing you haven't seen before.

Oh never mind...it isn't Bill Gates' fault. He has done a lot for the world.
I'm sorry, okay? Is everyone happy now? I am sorry for getting ticked off at a multibillionare that destroyed my hopes of playing Halo 2 PC on something I already have.

If I have to buy a computer add-on to play, then I'm sorry Bungie, I will not.

I hope everyone has a good upcoming weekend. :(

Vista is nothing more than trying to copy Mac OS X tiger and leopard and doing a poor job of it.

Please watch Vitamin Zawaz and everybody

This is a vide of a guy demoing Windows Vista at CES they took his audio and layed that over Mac OS the results are Shocking, chilling and just make you mad.

Ach! Was ist los?

Blame Steve Ballmer; he's the desk-throwing psycho who pretends to run things at MS these days. Mister Bill is, last I heard, trying to spend more time in the design department.

Stop crying kid. You think it was Bill Gates alone who made that decision? Do you think it would be wise to make an upcoming title for a soon to be obsolete platform instead their newest one?

Thats like getting mad because Sony is working on games for the PS3 instead of the PS2.

I wish Bill Gates would step down from Microsoft. Clearly he sucks. He probably made Bungie release Halo 2 for the Vista. Most people have XP, NOT Vista.

I was always looking forward to playing Halo 2 PC; now I can, if I get rid of the new computer I got and buy a brand-new one.

Someone please answer the question Why couldn't Bungie release Halo 2 PC for XP?

It's business. Halo 2 being Vista exclusive is a great way to promote Vista and DX10. Either upgrade to Vista, or go play the dumbed down Xbox version.

Yes folks. Bill Gates doesn't run Microsoft anymore. And desk-throwing psycho is a accurate description of Steve Ballmer. That guy scares me. I wish Bill was still running M$.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

I think the former Bungie employees just died a little on the inside as well. Sell outs.

im guessing none of you have played around with the betas. as far as i have ventured into windows vista, i have found absolutely NO software that is cross-compatible with vista and xp. ESPECIALLY games. not a single title i tried installing on the beta (the December 2005 release) worked. UT2004 almost worked, but was full of bugs. halo would not even recognize that i had directX installed.

fact is: if they were to make it for vista and XP, they would need to make two entirely different versions of it. the code would have to be made compatible for XP, and also compatible for vista. clearly this would be stupid and a waste of money, because not only will they spend extra money on halo 2, but it would give windows users one more reason yet to not get windows vista. from a business point of view, it would be absolute lunacy to release for XP and Vista.

Honestly I never even got XP for the specific reason that I did not see the point of it for a gamer. But now that Microsoft is coming out with VISTA I am deffinitly moving on and getting it. And most people will not need new computers, maybe more ram, or a new graphics card but come on! People shouldnt even say they are gamers if they dont have at least something close to the latest graphics card. Im not sayin that you cant be a good gamer if u run on something old or outdated but maybe that why there is so much lag in HPC. My custom pc with the gig of ram and the radion chip is just fine for VISTA lol but I still run 2000 so u can see why I cannot wait until VISTA arrives! lol but my point is its for the better lol

or it's the fact that Bill Gates is just the majority stock holder for Microsoft, he doesn't really OWN microsoft, they have a commitee for that.
