Maybe by the time this game comes out Window Vista has already became the medium.
Agreed.

You suck, Bill Gates. You truly do. Always having to put new games on next-gen platforms. Oh no, Mr. Gates, don't allow Bungie to make Halo 2 for the XP. *Gasp* You'd lose money, Mr. Gates, that you would! Oh no, it's not like you have TENS of BILLIONS of dollars lying around at home! I wish Bill Gates would step down from Microsoft. Clearly he sucks. He probably made Bungie release Halo 2 for the Vista. Most people have XP, NOT Vista. I was always looking forward to playing Halo 2 PC; now I can, if I get rid of the new computer I got and buy a brand-new one. Someone please answer the question Why couldn't Bungie release Halo 2 PC for XP?
Man, I hate to say this...but shut up and suck it up.
First: next-gen platforms are how Microsoft makes money. That's how they pay their 60,000 employees, by releasing new stuff so they can sell it to us consumers. That's business, and such a complain seems somewhat asisine.
Second: the fact that you use a Windows-based operating system proves that Mr. Gates has indeed done his job, SELL MICROSOFT STUFF. He founded the company, and he happens to be very good at crushing the competitors. If you don't like it, feel free to switch over to Linux/MAC...or just write your own operating system. Be happy enjoying your under 10%marketshare buddies! (this means that fewer than one out of every 10 people will be able to help you with your computer problems...fyi)
Third: You don't need to buy a new computer to install Vista you dork. Just buy it at CompUSA for whatever the price is (assume 200). Let's see...has Microsoft succeeded in getting your money, twice over here? You just bought Vista AND Halo 2...wow that's amazingly brilliant marketing! Guess who thought of that? Oh yeah, Bill Gates. Good thing I own Microsoft stock, I know I'll be laughing my way all the to the bank...right alongside Bill and thousands of other Microsoft shareholders.
Fourth: Why can't they release for XP? If you don't understand at this point...well I'll explain anyways because you probabaly don't. They want marketshare, more money, and more people running next-gen operating systems. No more coders will be writing things solely for XP anymore, it makes no sense to keep lagging your own products behind (namely Halo 2). Sure for the lowly consumer like you, it may seem like a power play. But for the MSFT exec and the shareholder like me, I am not angry...but quite happy. Especially since my mom is a Microsoft employee so I get 80-90% software discounts (got XP Pro for 20 bucks)...and I get in-house (first party) software for 15-20. So really, this move hasn't hurt me at all. Besides, its good that someone is making the move to push people to 64 bit processors, which is what Vista runs best on (just in case you didn't know). Up to this point, there has been no 64 bit revolution...but this outta jump Intel and game designers into the 64 bit league.
It also has kept long-time Microsoft customers like me...who are annoyed at the late Vista release, from switching over to Mac. I mean, if Vista is more stabile, nice looking, and runs Counter-Strike...AND Halo 2? Why wouldn't I spend 20 bucks on it?
See? Billy G. effectively squelched any complaints from ticked customers such as yourself. If it's a big problem, no matter. Have fun in Linux command prompt! =D
