Just because he was frozen doesn't mean that he couldn't have been upgraded in cryo-sleep.

Take a look at the Legendary ending's planet, then the Halo 4 trailer. It's been confirmed that the thing that MC is flying into in the trailer is the same planet at the end of Halo 3, so there's no way in the semi-short time that he got new armor.

I believe Halsey invented the MJOLNIR also, and she's off in the Dyson Sphere somewhere. I don't think she just payed him a visit while he's in cryo in the middle of nowhere on half a frigate just to update his armor to her new prototype.

Maybe his cryo-chamber have a robotic upgrading system, that can be remote accessed to send upgrades to Master Chief.
I hope you are joking, the cyro-chambers are made for typical flight crews on trips, spartans are literally like 10/10000000000000 humans at this time, they don't make them for spartans.

If I were in the presence of MC I would build him his own cryo-chamber.

Chief wasn't meant to be in cryo at all on the Dawn, but if he was I'm sure they would give him a nice one with cupholders.

Nah dude they totally had schematics lying around the derelict, nearly complete destroyed, ship and/or Cortana had access to the Battle.net (actually, let's be more ridiculous...had access to Halsey who was trapped in a Dyson Sphere and is really the only person who could design and create new MJOLNIR armor) in a completely destroyed ship potentially light years away from human space.

Or there were built in armor upgrade stations in the cryotubes. Or the Chief didn't really need to be in cyro and was walking around the ship with his minimal air supply looking for an armor upgrade station that we all know every UNSC ship had because it was clearly mentioned (nullifying completely the "Wake me when you need me" line and replacing it with "I can just wake up whenever the -blam!- I want because continuity doesn't matter and things don't have to make sense anymore".

That's probably how his armor got upgraded.

This trailer is mere CGI-filled TEASER trailer and is not CANON. You see new armor and weapons is simply representative how it will be in the game. It is simple way to get people to get excited for Halo 4.

It's most likely a T-Pack found on the MK IV version of MJOLNIR, so why wouldn't it be on the MJOLNIR MK VI? The reason he didn't use them, well, as you can see, they use energy from the reactors, and they are very unreliable, James lost his life cause of it, and a few did in training too.

As stated by Chief Mendez, there is a zero chance of rescue when using it and it gets fcked up.

Satisified?

Mk 4 didn't have an internal T-Pack...Nor did the Mk 5.

No they didn't. If you actually read the quotes I took from the book instead of spitting out cute little insults at me in the other thread you would've seen that they didn't have internal T-packs. Instead they had external ones that they picked up, wore, then discarded.

What exactly are you quoting?

In any case to repost the quotes again that prove that neither the Mk IV nor Mk V had internal thrusters since people still keep on thinking that...

The Fall of Reach page 144:

"Spartans," John said, "grab thruster packs and make ready to go EVA. Everyone else-" He motioned to the three technicians.
"-get into the forward cabin. If we fail, they'll be coming after the Pelican. Protect Dr. Halsey."
He moved Aft. Kelly handed him a thruster pack and he slipped it on.

That was for Mark IV armor. No integrated thruster pack.

Page 348:

James almost had the explosives rigged to the nose free. A shower of needles hit him. One stuck the tank of his thruster harness-penetrated.

Obviously if it was integrated there wouldn't be a harness for the thing since it's built right into the armor. Further down the same page:

Linda shrugged out of her thruster harness.

No need to delve into how that shows it's a separate piece. That's for Mk V.

Ghost of Onyx too has Thruster interaction.

Kurt ran his own diagnostic. They couldn't take any chances with the packs. Designed for
long range deep space operations, it was one of the riskiest pieces of equipment they'd been
trained on. Even with triple redundancy in NAV system and stabilizers, one accident and
there was enough compressed tri-amino hydrazine in the double fuel tanks to propel you so
far and so fast off course, rescue would be an astronomically remote possibility.

Ghosts Of Onyx, Page 28.

I don't know about you, but I've never seen a Spartan carrying a pair of fuel tanks on his back before.

Remember reading about how much spartans hated space ops in TFOR and such? Remember James? How he got blasted into space with to way to stop himself? Remember Kurt? Remember how most people are completely helpless in a zero g environment?

Halsey fixed that. Thrusters for some limited movement in zero g. It will save lives. Not jet packs, but a life saver.

If it was always there... why has it never been stated as being part of the armor before...

Halo Graphic Novel, the segment where the Mark VI is being tested. There are thrusters in the thighs, and I guess they just changed it to the shoulders.

The trailer for Halo 4 is not canon. It is just a trailer that teases us at what's to come. It's why they're called teaser trailers.

Exactly. Why don't people realise that it shouldn't be taken literally? Would 343 really release the opening level in a trailer? Of course not. They had a list of things they had to get accross: There will be new weapons - New RPG thing, there will (most likely) be armour abilities - Thruster/Jet Pack, There's a new non-Covenant threat - Big Forerunner-ish Death Star. That's all. The trailer, as Onyx has said, is purely to give us a sneak peak of what's to come, not a canonical prologue of the plot.

If only people could. It'd be particularly great if those people who feel the need to justify a trailer a canonically correct didn't post incorrect facts to support their justification as well...

The whole misperception that Mk IV and V having thrusters is slowly spreading like wild fire much like the whole "Arbiter killed Jun, just read the books!" misconception...

There's the picture that I've shown both DaeFaron AND YOU twice now. Twice. The first time, you thought it was the huge re-entry pack (similar to what Noble Six wore) that I was talking about. Seems to me like you two just can't make up your mind, and are looking for reasons to say they screwed canon.

That looks exactly like the utility John uses in The Package to reload his two SMGs.....

Except for the tube with holes in it... Kinda looks like, oh I don't know, a thruster? Think about what you're saying here; She doesn't have SMG's, and why would she "reload" while in space, having nothing wielded? Really??

To add to this, there's a pack that likely has a parachute - as well as the SRS on the front - so the Spartan can safely land. The shoulder thrusters are covered, they wouldn't be able to be used.

It's likely that what happened is the jackass who bent over canon making "The Package" thought it would look cool and put that in. In this picture, it's clearly a thruster in both appearance and implied usage.

Easy mate, I was just saying that they look exactly like those things in Legends, not that they are not thrusters.

But, there's the possibility that the Mark IV had the ammunition storage chambers on the thighs of the armor and it was later replaced in the Mark VI model by thrusters, it would seem plausible to me.
