Only the paranoid will survive!
That's right, a new spotlight! It's been two weeks since the previous one, but rest assured we haven't let it die yet. We're all fairly set on a new spotlight every two weeks, but nothing is really set in stone. I guess it all depends on how busy we are =P
But, now why you all read this, the spotlight! Everyone give a big "congrats" to Games in Action! This is a great new group. Games in Action is still relatively new to the Column, being founded slightly over a month ago, but by no means should that deter you from joining it. It's a group dedicated to game reviews, which is great for gamers who want to read up on a game before they buy or just catch up on the lastest gaming news. It's resources contain links to dozens of reviews, which you can look at here. They have their own gmail account if you need to contact them and are currently constructing a website for their group! So everyone, definantly check this group out. It's a rare find to see a group this small as active, dedicated and unique as Games in Action.

First of all, thanks for taking the time to answer these questions. I'm sure many founders will appreciate your advice.
One of the first questions that springs to mind is how did you come up with such an original chapter? Creating a chapter for game reviews such a unique idea.
Well I came up with the idea after seeing a post from Johnrap, where he had reviewed a game. I was interested and read the post. At the time I was talking to Goldhawk. I asked him if he thought it would be a good idea and he liked the idea.
How do you manage to keep such a small chapter so active? Does it take a lot of maintenance, or are people naturally attracted to your great group?
Well the GIA team does a lot of work in the group to help keep it active but the members seem to be able to keep active without us, though I like to keep myself posting on the site though.
Another thing has been puzzling me. Who can write these reviews? Are there a set group of people who write the reviews and the others comment, or is it just those who take the time to write reviews can post them?
Well the reviews work in two ways. The reviews in our group with the trademark next to the name are reviews written by the GIA team. The other reviews are written by members of the group. Any member of the group can write reviews, and as long as they are well thought out and grammatically correct we will put them in the resources.
Managing your security roles must be difficult. How do you organize them? Do you tend to be liberal in your appointing of moderators, or do you like to have a smaller force?
Our team is made up of seven members, this is our admin team, there are no other moderators. Our admin team is as big as we need it to be and we have no plans to make it bigger
Finally, what words of advice can you offer to new founders? With a group as well maintained and run as yours, I'm sure many group founders will be itching to hear what you have to say.
The best advice I ca give to any people wanting to start chapters is to come up with an idea that is original. It’s pointless to come up with a group that is he same as many other groups.
Thanks a lot for your time!
Also, the The Council Chambers has set up their very own email address to make it easier to recieve Chapter nominations! You can now send them to the address ChapterSpotlight@gmail.com. We encourage everyone to send their nominations to us! Not only does it give your favorite chapter a chance to be in the spotlight, but it makes our work a lot easier. Thanks a lot!
