Recently, I got into a Halo Kick (I bought Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, and two of the recent map packs for Halo: Reach in one day!) and all I could say is that I really enjoy it. Although I did not play Halo: CE and Halo 2, I did some research on the internet so I could understand the main storyline of the Halo franchise. Still, I would love to play the first two games. Recently, I found out that "Halo: 10th year anniversary" is currently in development. Should I buy Halo: CE (I heard that the XBOX games will work on the XBOX 360, but if that doesn't work, I still have the Original XBOX console) or should I wait for the remake?

I guess the game is cheaper on xbox, but personally, I'd buy the anniversary. And the original afterwards if you become a big fan and want the original system link mp and music. The anniversary, because you get new mp maps, online co-op and new graphics. Yes new graphics, because it might be easier for you to get into the game, and it would bring new life to it, and you can check the old graphics anyway. The only things really missing is the original mp and the original music (if they don't include it).

Good players work together...and no matter how good you are, you're not physic. - blade6321

There's really no point in buying the original now, other than to truly compare and contrast. Any window for you to build up nostalgia passed years ago. If you're like me and you want to have every form of Halo humanly possible, then hell ya! If not, just buy anniversary and play it through with the classic mode.

The three halos you listed happen to be complete and total garbage compared to the two you havent played.

See you on the battlefield.

I feel for you, having missed out on two truly epic games like that. Unfortunately, the nostalgia window has long passed for Halo: CE, and Halo 2 no longer has online multiplayer.

If you decide to go ahead and get CE, I would suggest the PC version so you can still get that original multiplayer flavor. Since the PC version came out in 2003, you should be able to run it without any additional hardware.

It's up to you.

Do you want the opportunity to experience the game to its fullest, or do you just want something you can acclimate to quickly?

If the former, I'd strongly recommend going with the original xbox disc (or PC if that floats your boat more effectively), since the remastered version supposedly won't include the original audio. Also, gotta have the classic menu screen; it's seriously part of the experience.

On the other hand, if you don't want to have to acclimate to an older aesthetic style (or if you can't be bothered to use something other than flatscreen speakers, which the original game's audio isn't balanced well for at all), you should wait for the remastered campaign.

Buy both :D

Bang out Combat Evolved on the Xbox and then buy the Anniversary version and bang it out on the 360 xD
