Staff Sergeant future 510, serial number HHT3-09PL, Flood Military Reserve.

What would you guys think about another branching campaign in the fashion of Halo 2, where the player jumps between the Arbiter and the Master Chief?

I think if 343 were to act on such an idea, you could follow the Arbiter as he fights along side splinter forces of the Covenant as they try to liberate the home worlds of each species from the last of the Covenant. As the Arbiter fights on one end of the galaxy, we could jump to Chief as he explores the depths of Forunner ruins on the other side of the galaxy.

TL;DR- Play as Chief, then play as Arby, like Halo 2.

Boomer.
Best. Ship. Ever!

The stories would have to be connected in some way and I don't know how they could do that if all the Arbiter is doing is liberating worlds from the Covenant. Maybe if while he is fighting the covenant the ancient force they were talking about in Halo 4 appears and starts a ruckus. At that point you switch between them.

The Chief's story could be finding out the truth behind the ancient force and its history while the Arbiter's story could be about defending everyone from the new threat. That would be interesting.

Imagine a triangle. It's perfect, but a little plain. You take a chisel, and carve a small decorative symbol into it to make it a little more interesting. People like it, but it could use a little more.

So you then take a sledgehammer..

YES. So long as their stories are somehow connected, it would be amazing IMO.

Have you seen my mind anywhere? I seem to have lost it...

0x0 x0x 0x0 000 000 x0x 000
x0x 0x0 0x0 0xx 000 0x0 000
x0x x0x x00 0xx 0x0 x0x 0x0

I have seen you future

As long as they do a good job with it like they did in Halo 2 it would be great. Telling two completely separate stories would cheapen each experience. Maybe if you meet a new character in the beginning/early stages of the game and later on you get to play as him/her it would be cool.

I think this would be reasonable somewhere in the trilogy, but not the first game. This is the rising action in the plot, where we meet what we're dealing with. Next game will probably have to do with Chief's return home, or something similar. Then we'll have the part where they go all badass and fight to kill off the evil force "once and for all" and then Chief PROBABLY dies, or another cliffhanger ending happens resulting in either another trilogy OR multiple spinoffs.

If you're passionate about the thing you're talking about, I'll always lend an ear.

Hmm... For another trilogy to be establish something of greater of equal magnitude must be put in place for continuing the story into an epic 3-piece tale.

If it's a proper sequel, it should have elements or at the very least referances to the Elites taking back their homeworld, if they pay homage to the books[which Reach clearly hasn't] they would continue the story of Ghost of Onyx.

I do hope if Blue Team are revealed in this game, they should be portrayed by the iconic image and characteristics from the novel that establish continuity. If it's anything like Noble Team, i would be utterly shattered and disappointed.

Not only that, new enemies must be introduced fighting through Grunts, Jackals, Brutes etc do get very stale after the 5 Halo Games before it and if 343i want to continue Halo, they will change it up.

Thus a contrast as the Arbiter fighting against the divided covenant, would not be a bad idea. It would serve as a reminder every now and then, that this game is still Halo.

This. I think two storylines, one for Arby one for Chief, would be ideal for satisfying all Halo fans, not just Master Chief fanboys.

READ IT.

I won the Star. With this on Week 18.

If you think about it... Bungie did it twice.

Master Chief and Arbiter.

Then in ODST, we get to play as many different characters...

but didn't the majority of halo fans hate playing as the Arbiter?

I actually think this would be a good idea. MC can fight a new enemy and Arby can fight our covenant friends again

I don't think they'll be doing anything like that. In their latest ViDoc, they mentioned that they're interested in the "Chief's" story. So...

Is anyone else hear tired of "Chief"? I personally have had enough. An entirely new trilogy...?

Yea, but games without the Chief just feel very different. Imagine a Mario game without Mario. Plus, we haven't heard much about the chief for almost 3 and a half years.

Yeah, but the name of the game is Halo, not Master Chief.

What if Mario games were named "Italian Man Princess Rescue"? The concept would still apply: of you stick with a protagonist for too long, you can't go on without them.

That's not entirely true. The Halo series would do fine without him.
