IF HALO IS A WORLD THEN I'M ITS KING
(SD)KING B

well we finally got a release date and they said that there will be no extra fee for clans then I have two very important questions that need to be answered. One where is the pistol, I feel bungie is trying to level the playing field to much and are going to leave out the best weapon in the game, anyone who is an elite plays with the pistol and a sniper. Second question is are we going to be able to take a guest or a friend online with us when we play? I dont know about anyone else but I would like the rest of my team to be there with me when I enter a tourney. When I say take a friend or another player I mean on the same screen on one internet connection. I dont want to hear that the battle rifle will do the same thing, the battle rifle fires 3 shots at a time and 1 while zoomed, anyone who is good at halo don't have to zoom and I feel that the 3 shot battle rifle wont do as much damage as the pistol does in part one. I don't know why bungie dont answer these questions, its not like the game can get anymore hyped than it is, I feel that these features are not in there and they dont want to say because it my make the elite or tourney player upset.

Halo 2: Release Date and Collector's Edition Unveiled

[Image Removed]

Halo 2 will be available in stores on November 9, 2004. That's the long and the short of it. You'll be playing Campaign, multiplayer or both on November 9th. And if you pre-order, you'll have the chance to purchase an extra-fancy collector's edition in a metal box.

I can still remember that feeling of buying my first ever game. In my case, it was the Atari 2600 game COMBAT. I remember taking the bus home and reading the instruction manual. "52 different games in one!" Admittedly they were all variants of the same game, but, that feeling of rushing home to play it, but cherishing that pristine box of your favorite game is an irreplaceable feeling. Of course back then, the boxes were made of cardboard and mine got wet and disintegrated within a week.

That's why we're pleased, no, elated to announce the existence of the Halo 2 Limited Collector's Edition in its cool, steely silver, embossed, satin-finished, perfect, metal box.

The Halo 2 Limited Collector's Edition is available to players who pre-order the game - those who have already pre-ordered, will probably be contacted by their retailer to see which version they want, but to be safe, we recommend contacting your retailer directly and making sure they know which version you want - awesome regular kind or super-awesome Limited Collector's Edition.

The exclusive 2-DVD set includes, in addition to Halo 2:

* The Making of Halo 2: Behind the Scenes of Bungie Studios.
* Featurettes on Game Design, Animation, Music and More.
* Deleted Cinematics and Characters
* Art Gallery: From Concept to game
* Commentaries from the Development Team
* And much, much more.

So, that's that. You're probably enjoying the new the shots, and there'll be more Halo 2 goodness later in the week - but lest you forget, here's a list of awesome things in history that were made of metal.

1. Katanas
2. Tanks
3. Death Stars
4. Bullets
5. Deadly Teeth

So enjoy and to keep you going, check out these shots of the metal box concept - it may change a little between now and November 9th.

Question: You said the metal box will be given instead of the green plastic box. So does that mean there will still be the box art on it?

  • 06.23.2004 6:02 PM PDT

The box art for the metal box will more than likely be IN the box, as, by looking at the cover, there is no art to speak of other than the "2."
The metal box will probably have everything the green box does, except the green.

That's what I thought, which is why I asked the question. But judging by the back I doubt that box art is an option...(unless I can steal the cover from a store, and put it on the box, but that would be pointless, as the metal box kicks total ass). I wonder what kind of metal they use? I think Tungsten or Titanium would be awesome, but that wouldn't be cost effective for bungie. Plus, how would you carry it? I'm thinking tin, possibly even steel. Aluminum would be too weak.

Metal? Shiny? Box?

What are these new forms of material?!??! I'm confused!

Why does this game look so cool? I do not understand the meaning of humanoids playing with their silly toys, instead of tinkering with more fun things to do, like work. And... Work.. And... maybe work--in an office space.

I just do not understand. I just do not understand.

In our world, we use netro-glacian pholoiid, to make materials strong. It seems to me that your foolish "metal" can only stand so much. And what is this cardboard? You humanoids ARE interestingly.. er... how should I put this?

Neverming.

It would be nice if they include a tournament mode in Halo 2.We have 1-on-1 CTF tourneys but we have to draw up the bracket ourselves.Also,we play to 5 points in CTF but there should be "rounds" for each player..example=3 rounds for each player to capture the flag.The one with the most points have a the 3 rounds wins.
