Best. Ship. Ever!

I found on the Halo Waypoint site a larger image of the object that is taking in Chief and Cortana.

Image

I don't see any Forerunner symbols on it though that doesn't mean that it isn't Forerunner.

So what do you all think? If anything it's a cool wallpaper.

You know what is also weird? The Ship was breached from the front with smoke and fires, but in this picture, it seems untouched.

You know what else is weird. There is fire. In space. Which is impossible.

Rarely does any sort of science fiction game, movie, tv show, or even books follow the laws of physics in space. The closest show I can think of that got some of the space stuff right was Firefly.

But please lets not derail the thread.

Fire can exist in space, as long as there is some type of fuel with liquid oxygen in it - which I assume the Frigate has.

And the structure is definitely Forerunner. Look at it's resemblance to the portal to The Ark, both in architecture and style.

My intention was not to derail the thread. I was just pointed out something.

The structure would have to be forerunner, or, if anything else, flood or covenant. It would be ridiculous for 343 studios to throw in some new ancient species and send the halo story on a totally new path.

"Think about how stupid the average man is. Now take into account how half of them are even stupider than that. I just blew your mind.

I think they will try to incorporate Forerunner into this game. Where else is there to go? Certainly not another conglomerate of religious alien troops. That would be cliche and quite the bore.
Seeing as there is such a wealth of forerunner knowledge already out there,(even if most of it is fan publications) 343 Industries has a huge amount of substance they can use or more likely they'll come up with their own. I, for one, really hope they do try to go in the direction of a forerunner based story.

Early Artworks. They're just trying to put something out to tease. Most likely a rushed job to have something for the expo.

Whoops...

It is a possibility that the structure is Forerunner, for the Forerunner technology and lore has not been explored as extensively as it deserve, if not, I'm sure remnants of the forerunners will play some part in the story.

Anyway, thanks for the new desktop background man. Looking forward to the new title.

The planet looks like someone completely covered it with gigantic Forerunner circuit boards though.
