I started a small topic about this yesterday, but I'd really like to see what everyone thinks.

If there were matchmaking, and there were some sort of anti-cheat think like VAC that valve uses for steam, would you want it?

OK ALSO READ THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!- selecting Yes also means that there is a server list to select from

if no, please explain. I think matchmakings great, and I just want to see why anyone wouldnt want it. It mixes gameplay up alot, fun to see how much you can progress, and doesnt get boring quickly.

No because I would rather be able to play with my friends, on the same server, all the time that randomly play with random people on random servers. It shouldn't be the sole option if it is an option.

I don't play on live so I don't know what matchmaking is, but let me take a stab at it. If you have a Live account I assume your stats are recorded for every game you play and you get ranked based on your stats. Matchmaking then only lets you jion games that are for your rank, resulting in more evenly matched battles. (in theory) If this is matchmaking then I think it would be a great OPTION. It would be an OPTIONAL setting that you could set for yourself or for a server. I would love to be able to go into a Halo PC game where everyone was similar in skill to me. It makes for a more fun game. But if you wanted to challenge players above you to learn what they do you should be able to turn it off. Did that makes sence or do I have it all wrong?

Well match making would be pretty good, some really great games like WC3 have used this very well in ladders, for example in WC3 some matchmaking games took just seconds and made the game very balanced as it balanced the skills of both teams. But WC3 also had a server browser for other things like customs games, custom maps etc. But i put no to matchmaking as i want to pick my own server. But really they should add that as an extra option for some really quick gaming action so you can just jump in and play really fast if you feel like it, this can be a really good extra option as you may find a server thats reallys good and can keep on playing it from a server browser.

Also add a third option to the poll if you want both of them like me.

P.S. Hello new to the forums, hope to keep posting here :)

Stupid parents let their stupid children play games that are rated M when they should be playing Big Birds Spelling Adventures

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

I don't want straight matchmaking.
I would like an option for MM and an option for an optimatch type search.

Live for yourself!

Without matchmaking in Halo 2 on Xbox I would have hung my controller up a long time ago.
Thing is, I found matchmaking to be something very refreshing for an FPS game and, without it on Xbox Live, Halo 2 would have been played out a long time ago. The Satisfaction of getting that "next-lvl" is something that I strive for with my Xbox Live buddies everytime I play Slayer. (all 1916 games...)

Halo 2 on Computer is something I have wanted ever since I played this amazing game on the Xbox, and I haven't stopped playing.

The PC version, in my opinion anyways, should have both options for matchmaking and player hosted servers like Counterstrike or Battlefield.

I think it would be a great option. As long as it was an option, and we could choose.
