The thread title could also be changed to "Bungie killed Halo canon and make an entire game based upon a 'How the hell?' premise" (which coincidentally is what I wanted the thread title to be, but would have been far too long to fit) and still work for the contents ITT.
So we've all played Reach.
Disregarding any discussion regarding the quality of the campaign, I've got one question to ask.
How did the Covenant manage to land on Reach without being detected by the UNSC?
They didn't just land, they managed to land, set up a dead zone, fly in a Super Carrier to land MORE troops, and they did this all without detection?
Whatever happened to
a) being able to detect slipspace ruptures
b) the defense fleet that should have been protecting Reach
c) the orbital defense MAC platforms
???
Did everyone working for the UNSC just happen to take the day off while the Covenant just simply walked into Mordor...erm, Reach?
I mean, really.
How the hell did they do it? Or did Bungie just screw up that badly.
