I blame myself, not Stosh.

This relates to "The Babysitter" episode. It was about a group of ODSTs and one spartan tasked with killing a prophet on a covenant occupied world.

While watching the episode I noticed the odd human looking structures. I wondered who built them and if this was once a world inhabited by humans. While watching the commentary Frank O'Conner stated that these structures were not human at all. In fact these structures were niether covenant or forerunner. He said that in the this will be further explained someday.

Could these structures have anything to do with Halo 4? What beings created these structures and what is there significance in the Halo Universe?

Is the commentary you mention on the disc?

Brains beats brawn get used to it

Fear the Red Comet

Variety is the spice of life.
Long live games.
Death to all fanboys.

I thought Frankie only said neither Covenant or Forerunner while the community just ruled out humanity for themselves. I could be mistaken, though if someone can find that interview it'd be great.

Prehistorical human empire.
Almost as powerfull as the forerunners and even more so with the San'Shyuum.

True.
And then the community (the part that doesn't complain about everything at least) came to the conclusion that these ruins were part of the ancient human empire from before Cryptum.

Now that you mentioned the stairs, could it be Precursor? The precursors are supposed to be huge, which requires big stairs. It make sense if it was still intact too because Precursor structures are nearly indestructible.

They don't fit the precursor style.

NOT INTO THE LONG GRASS!

They're created by Precursors.

Halo 4 should be a universe spanning battle with the Precursors- imagine in the end of the new trilogy, a last stand with everyone allied against The Timeless One, maybe the introduction of Didact into the games, that would be so epic...

I hope they can infuse a deep and heavy sci fi story with Halo CE's weapon balance with Halo 2's movement speed.

Yeah. That would be an amazing as hell game.

They cant be Precursor. Their buildings are described to look like crystal, AND the ones in Babysitter were falling apart.

And I doubt the trilogy would be about fighting the Preursors as a whole. They would win.

Fighting one Precursor however--the Prisoner, as you said--while fighting his Flood armies is more likely.
