I am a long time fan of the Halo universe, and of Halo in general. I own art books, the novels, models, Halo 1 PC, Halo 2...
...but I'm not getting a new OS anytime soon. Don't think this is just some immature internet-effect, Frankie, this is your fans hating what you (Bungie) have had to do to Halo 2 PC (because of some deal, probably with Gates himself.). I was really looking forward to a Halo 2 PC experience, but not at the estimated expense of $300 for a new operating system.
If you had told me that Halo 2 PC were to come out, and that I would not be buying it, I'd have called you a liar--nay, a varlet. A stinkin' pimpirate varlet. But this is the scenario that would stop me from wanting anything to do with it. It's Vista. A shameless marketing ploy, quite obviously with (very empty-sounding) technobabble direct from Microsoft's Vista Marketing Division. Now, I do not hate Microsoft, and I do not often speak harshly of the creators of products I regularly use. But Bungie, this is just a bid for money. You've got to see that, though I doubt you'd be in a very good position if you acknowledged it. The only honest, practical advantage Vista has (for a video game) is security-based...but I don't have security problems. And it's not my duty as a customer to drop $300.00 on OSes every 4 years.
Suffice to say, you've stopped me (a serious fan) from buying a title from the video game franchise and company I love most. Or rather, your deal with the corporate pseudo-devil has.
Is Microsoft funded by the Covenant?
