Hey, Atkins! This one's for you. :)
Now, being a Gamer, (specifically for the console side), I know that a certain amount of K@$H must be set aside for hardware and software. Myself, I wait the 3-4 years between consoles to buy them. Saved a ton for the 360 myself! Also, not to brag, but I have great taste in games, only buying one or two stinkers for my 'ol BOX. MY POINT was not to scramble like mad-men to the Comp-USA or whatever, to pay out the wazoo for a next gen computer system to play an X-BOX game with some (cool) bells and whistles, unless you've got the money and want it BAD.
Now, about your dividing the world into classes bit... Yes. Most of the world doesn't have the financial oppertunites that Americans have. I'm aware that 99.9% of Ethiopia, Guatemalla, and Haiti won't be buying Vista anytime soon. If I were rich, I wouldn't be working at a department store this afternoon, and I've bills and crap to pay off too mate! Men's dept...it beats shoes, but YUK! Anyhoo, You can't judge people by how fat a wallet they have, or doesn't have. But I can tell you: If someone is living pay check to paycheck, then I don't think that they should invest in a new expensive PC at that point in time, nor would they probably have the high-speed internet connection needed to play online. Maybe not the extra funds for the game its self... You never know.
Three things before I jet:
1) Don't put people into "classes" that in its self divides people and makes its own problems. People have more or less money for an infinate amount of reasons.
2) Don't turn this thing into a Red vs. Blue (state) thing. I mean that...
3) Companies make money. They MUST if they want to remain a company. You know... selling quality stuff to people, to make jobs... fuel the economy....
I don't see people by their economic status by the way. I just see people. Stank, ugly, strange humans... ;)

Thank you for replying! Sorry that I put you in a category. But what Human does not? The truth of the matter is that there is classes in this world. And the saddest thing of all is that being in a certain class, people often forget what the other “class” is going through. America everyday is having a larger and larger separation between poor and rich classes, as there are less jobs for people to get. (to many people, to little jobs, and a recessive economy means lay-offs.) So paint a picture were there is no classes is like looking through rose tinted glasses. Its like saying there is no racism in this world. (Which sadly there is in all colors and shades.)
Now to what you do….
That’s great! Good to see you in with the rest of the world working and making a living, and I do wish the best for you. Sorry that I may have judged you by what you say, but as you know first impressions is the most impacting event when forming (especially over the internet) an opinion of someone and how they think and live. My sincere apologies for that. I would hope however that you could see where I came from when I fried that back at you. After all, I can see where the other people are coming from. Also, some people who live by paycheck by paycheck aren’t the smartest people with money, and often want something and will try to buy it, but if it is so far out of there reach and they love it so much, it can be depressing. You also have to consider the teens and kids who have a hard time making $500 bucks with school and life. You have the luxury of working 8 hours a day; they can only do 2-4 while still breathing in school. (Also collage kids to, almost forgot them!)
Three things before I move on:
1) Some people are born into this world being poor and having limited abilities because of there environment. The “rags to riches” story is a very unlikely scenario for the average person. I am pretty well off, and to see people go through trying times and not help my troubled “brother” is inhuman, and immoral. Because we humans have the power to change the world on an individual level, I think it is important to make it my business, as a human being, and a person of faith. Would god let someone who is kind or struggling sit there on a log?
2) I think your right about this. Sorry for bringing that into the conversation. I will try to look out for more of that.
3) Lets say that I have a great connection with some business . I can assure you that they make plenty of money, and that all they want to do is see how far they can go to make the most money- regardless of what may happen. If you could pay for something 30% cheaper would you, still knowing that companies would make 80-100% profit? Dumb question, because we all know the answer. My problem is that companies are forgetting the people below them in the economic world, and are quiet often forgetting what we need to do has humans. $ is to strong for them.

I totally agree with you that MS is forgetting who put them on the map. But what company has not forgotten its people? As it is right now, all the major ISP’s like version and Comcast are setting up a plan together in a small room on how there goanna totally control the internet. Were you have to pay to download a certain amount of flies or stream only so much. They did it with Cell Phones. Some day the internet will not be free. It also gives advertisements more control on who to target, and thus companies get more $. Welcome to Corporate America were Capitalism rules.
They may be trying to do this but it will never take effect. As things become cheaper and easier to implement more people are going to expect cheaper and hassle free service.
Verizon and Comcast don't own the internet or the hardware used to run it. They may own a portion of the hadware but don't own it all. I can assure you that if this is tried it will not work. Everyone is happy with the current system of a flat monthly rate. THe only way this could be implemented successfully is if they did a system where you get a flat monthly rate or pay by bandwidth consumption, so you have a choice. This would only benefit people who don't use the internet alot but want the high speed.
That’s great for those who don’t use it that much, but realize this, Most people use the internet on a day to day basis. Companies still make money with people having an unlimited amount of bandwidth. And you can’t tell me that and empire does not want to buy a cake and eat it to. :) Of course companies want to control and make money as much as possible. And just a couple of months ago, Version and other companies where trying to soften some laws to make it possible. You see, as a company, they want to extend there reach. Again, what big corporation would not want to do this, if you can? $$$$=power=control. You cant tell me that does not exist in the business world. There should be no hassle fees. You and I both know that that is placed in an attempt to make more money. Funny thing is people actually still pay for it instead of stop paying and make a protest.
There will be a choice, flat monthly rate (you cant download as much) or service packs where you have to pay more to have so much bandwidth/ unlimited. If you were in charge and could make billions more every year, would you?
