For every word we never spoke, we have a tear to cry
Alright, so I've been collecting Halo stuff since the first game came out. I have figures from most of the games, books, t-shirts, etc. and I am fairly impressed by the marketing of Halo outside the games themselves. However, there is one thing that is woefully missing (in my opinion)
Ships.
Why has there been a lack of merchandise based on the ships of the Halo franchise? I don't know, they're certainly a large enough part of the franchise. Yet the ships receive little attention.
Now, I know that Halo is an FPS, and the characters are the important part. I get that, and I support it. However, I (personally) see the ships as more than environments, and characters in their own respect. Pillar of Autum, In Amber Clad, Truth and Reconciliation. Even the Pelicans are parts of the game that take on a certain life of their own.
I'm an amateur modeler, and I would certainly enjoy Halo-based model kits. While it would appeal to a smaller population, there's a certain degree of fun to building a ship like that with your own hands.
Another (and, should it ever happen, the most likely) approach would be die-cast miniatures, like the ones produced for Star Wars and Star Trek. Something like that is much more popular, and can be sold at a wider variety of retail locations.
I just think this would be a fun addition to the Halo franchise. Any thoughts?
