Who is John Galt?

Title says my question. It looked fine in the original game, but I'm a little worried that a reach-style warthog will look strange being pelted by plasma and coming out unscathed. I don't want it changed, considering that would mean re-balancing and altering the game, and they promised to keep it exact, but this might bug me a little.

It's the Reach warthog so it will be more believable than any other hog. Reach' hog is tuff looking.

Can't say I entirely agree. The Halo 1 'hog has by far the most solid look to it IMO. Besides, my brain associates the Reach hog with being flipped about by pistol bullets, and suffering other absolutely pathetic fates.

Yeah, the Reach hog's physics were messed up truly. Almost as bad as the CE pistol's damage.

I'm actually mostly okay with their driving physics, the big issue is just that they evidently have a tiny moment of inertia, or something. I love the way they handle, but external forces from some weapons shouldn't have a tenth the destabilizing effect that they have.

Also, the M6D's damage is not messed up. Halo 1 just doesn't follow the "power weapons should make it easy to defeat other players and give them no chance" design doctrine, which is awesome.

Maybe their shocks just suck? Or maybe the armor is just bad?

The HCE Warthog run would be insanely difficult with Reach Hog physics. Put it on Legendary... or Mythic...

God, Halo CE would be absolutely hell on Mythic.

Spawning with an anti-everything cannon = no vehicular combat at all. AKA the Designated Marksman Rifle.

The pistol was the only thing that ever scored kills against me when I was in the Banshee. That and other Banshees, and the Scorpion tank when my team didn't call out that it was there.

And yet, HCE is by far the most balanced and easily the best multiplayer of all the games because of the pistol. God I miss having a starting weapon.

No, the problem is that the vehicle have very small HP and don't regenerate health. The guns aren't the imbalanced part of the equation.

The HCE/H2 Scorpion was actually deserving of the designation of tank. This separate gunner system was wtf horrible.
