Subject: Reason for armor name change in Reach

I started up the heated debate on whether the SPARTAN-II in the cryo tube near the end of Reach is really Linda.
I created the Moa XING avatar pic.
Also I earned the All Star nameplate with this submission to Week 14 All Stars http://www.bungie.net/images/News/Inline11/bwu_0415/art/likea boss.jpg

I'm not entirely sure it this goes in the universe forum, but because it pertains to the naming of the armor and not gameplay elements, I think it fits in here.

How come Bungie decided to change the name of the armor from the Beta?
Example
Every single armor piece in that pic recieved was changed. The full game doesn't even have EOD shoulders.
Due to this, I somewhat consider the now FJ/Para shoulders Mark V [B] shoulders.

@accordingto343

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

Probably because it was a Beta and thus were simply placeholders for the time.

same here.
I'm sure that when the artists were drawing up the armor, they had a name for the armor already. Then suddenly somebody is like "We have to change the names!"
It seems like because of this we have so many pieces that don't come in a full set. Like EOD, Mark V [B], CQB are all just helmets and nothing else.
