Subject: Bungie.net Community: What will happen?

Ideals are bulletproof. Unfortunately, most ideals suck.

Was curious as to with the transition of Halo from bungie to 343, what will happen to the community on bungie.net?
Will bungie still host the Halo servers, or will we have to start over again on a new community website for the halo universe?

Also, what will happen to our Halo game stats/ranks? Will we keep them or we 343 force us to start over?

Nobody exactly knows just yet.

I think Bungie will host some stats for a while but once they release their Ip, Bungie will most likely discard almost everything Halo related. (What I think)

So, when you say discard, do you mean just give it all to 343, or erase and make us start over?

Start over? No. They will simply take down all Halo-related things on their site (I assume). Also, 343 will be in charge of Halo: Reach and players' stats, so you won't be erased. I am actually really excited to see what Bungie does next, and am excited to see the site without all the Halo stuff.

hi

I seriously doubt they'll reset our stats in game. As for our stats on-site, I think they'll eventually be purged over time, like they've started to do with Halo 2. They might be transferred to some 343 site. Bungie.net and it's community will stay here, as it was before Halo. I also doubt they'll start removing everything Halo from the site. Click the "Games" tab on the top. If you scroll down you'll see screenshots/wallpapers from games as far back as Gnop.

ODST for life

I've pondered this myself lately...I'm not sure what's going to happen. I've only known b.net during the Halo era so it's going to be weird transitioning away from that. It's going to be weird and even sad in a way but I'm excited to see what new things comes from it and hopefully we can build a new community that's even better than the one which followed and supported the Halo franchise.

I think our game stats will still be hosted on B.net, just my opinion.

I hope they keep the Universe (with all it's archives) instead of erasing every bit of Halo from this website. I mean, really, there's no reason to exclude the past ten years of history from Bungie. But at the same time, I do think it's time for Bungie to move on.

What i mean is that eventually Bungie will stop supporting stats from halo 3, ODST, and reach, much like what happened with Halo 2.

Im Excited about the transition but also saddened. When I hear the word "Halo" the first thing I think of is bungie. But I'm glad because halo is a great series and it's awesome to see even after 10 years, it's still kicking off multiple times.

Bungie - Thank you for Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo Wars and Halo: Reach. I also Thank You for allowing the Halo community to recieve their Blue Flaming Helmet.

I think 343 Industries will take over the Halo Community and Bungie will be concentrating on the Aerospace project

What i think will happen during the transition from Bungie to 343 is that slow and in due time everything halo-related will be disregarded from Bungie and transferred to 343 ,the site im sure will still belong to Bungie but as far as stat viewing ect. im not sure how that is going to work out. And i highly doubt that they will make us restart.

May 11 will be known as Halo 2 Day for me from now on.

Well Ive been in the Navy since June 25, 2009 and its a fun job right now.

I think that even though Bungie will move away from Halo at some point I dont think the Halo forums will be discarded but rather just not as important as their new projects...

I haven't actually seen any proof for the transfer of forums, and I post/lurk A LOT.
Anyone got a link for me, I just would like to see this.
