We are all going to get banned aren't we?

We all should know that halo is a blend of various sc-fi elements along with religious ones.

So i was reading the article on darksiders 2 and found out that the horsemen in that universe) are the last members of the Nephilim race, so i wanted to check that out.
In the bible the nephilim are said to be "evil giants that are the offspring of some angels and humans; they also lived before and after the flood.

Naturally i saw that connection and tried to apply it to halo (or see how it would be used in halo) and i got a few ideas for it.

Forerunners would be the nephilim seeing how they are regarded as giants (bornstellers dad was 13 feet tall) and how they also lived before and after the flood. I got a connection with them being "evil" since most of the humans didn't like the forerunners and that ideology was passed on after the flood.

the only issue with this is that i know some latin/greek and i know that this is a false translation. They saw a word that look like gigantic but it was actually titans. which i find to be even more interesting.

I am just jumping a head and seeing something that could be touched upon in the halo mythos, i would love for everybody to look this up and talk about it.

don't take this or anything in the Bible literately, play with it like 343i would.

Nephilim are the offspring of angels and man therefore the forerunners could (just in this thread) be the child of humanity. that would be a twist.

"Defiant Reclaimer, he who will shatter the land and break the sky apart..."

I think its a great comparrison you've brought up! Whilst Nephilim are not directly referred to as evil (depingding on which religious text) - Mankind could certainly see them like that, I'm sure i recall something about the Forerunners disproving of human nature yet treasuring them at the same time.... Thus leaving mankind to follow in their footsteps at a later time.

I don't think so. As long as you don't start being a crazy person who thinks Nephilim are aliens that've come to Earth or something like that that conspiracy theorists love. Again, I don't think this is a valid theory.

For the love of cryptum did you even read the post?

I said i was jumping ahead and found something 343 might connect the haloverse to. please read and understand before posting.

"Defiant Reclaimer, he who will shatter the land and break the sky apart..."

Guess you could make connections between the Precursors and God etc?

Umm, you posted something, I posted my opinion. Do you not know what forums are for? You said you're jumping ahead, that doesn't make your thoughts immune to criticism.

I'm sorry, are you mad that I basically schooled you? I'm sorry, but your thread is grasping at straws here.

"A LIE is a LIE"

Ah, this thread takes me back to the "Halo as a Christian allegory" thread. I always thought of halo as a kind of religious styled story.

Good job pointing this similarity out.

ok i am not even going to seriously reply because i don;t want this to get locked. but i sighed at the fact you don't understand what this thread is about, this isn't a theroy this is a hypothetical concept.

you didn't "school" me, but if you did you taught me how you aren't able to comprehend.

You got mad because I said that this scenario wasn't likely, then you pretend like I'm not allowed to do that because you said it's "jumping ahead" and therefore immune to criticism? You clearly don't know what forums are used for, and when you display such a poorly supported argument, you have to be ready to take any kind of criticism. That's why I schooled you.

1. i have not gotten mad, yet. and nearly everybody that has seen me get mad can tell you that.

2.I couldn't care less if this happens or not. i was just stating that i could see them making a connection here. and if your going to disagree with something post why instead of just "i don't think so, this isn't valid".

3. what did you criticize exactly? all i saw was this

"I don't think so. As long as you don't start being a crazy person who thinks Nephilim are aliens that've come to Earth or something like that that conspiracy theorists love. Again, I don't think this is a valid theory."

That isn't criticism, that is saying you don;t like something.

4. again you didn't "school" me in any fashion, you are just making yourself look like a moron and can't comprehend whatsoever.

So please get on topic or stop posting becuase i don't want this to get locked. If you want this to go on i'll just PM a mod and have him end it.

You got upset when I said that I didn't think this was likely. You can't take even the slightest criticism. The conspiracy theory part was a light hearted joke, before I found out that you couldn't take even that. Again, you don't know what forums are used for. You post your opinion, I post mine. Don't get mad when I don't agree with yours. Don't be a baby about it.

I don't view this as a valid concept because it seems like you are just grasping at far off, vague straws in an attempt to connect the Halo universe with Christian mythology. Not that you're doing this consciously, either, everyone does it from time to time. It's kind of a gift and curse within the human brain, to seek out patterns. Oftentimes, however, it can work against when we start to find patterns where there really are none.
