no he didn't. He always had the battle rifle. Look while he puts the plasma sword away. You can see the battle rifle on the ground

I disagree. When he picks up the sword he clearly drops the dual guns for it. I just don't think that Bungie would change something that had made this game different then all others...

Not really. You can hold three weapons but you must dump one. You cannot store your duel wield, you dump the second weapon you picked up, in this case, the needler.

*lol* GC13, you do realize that what you just said equals three weapons?

You know what? I'm just gonna repost my post from HBO

But first, an EDIT:
Ok Draerden, now read my post, and find where I say that you can't hold three weapons. Can't do it, can ya? Hell, I even said that you can get up to four. Which is more than three.

Now, my post from HBO:

Ok, clearly what occurs is this:

He starts the map with the SMG and the Battle Rifle (as you used to start out with an Assault Rifle and a Pistol). He kills Max (who had swapped his SMG for the sword), and obtains the ammo for the Battle Rifle. He then switches his Needler/SMG combo for the Sword.

What does this mean? Note the "Hold Y to Dual Wield" when he stood over the Needler with the SMG. The dual-wielding setup takes up one weapon slot. This means that to dual wield, you can't say "I have a plasma pistol and an SMG in my inventory, I think I'll dual wield them." You have to walk over the desired second weapon, and press and hold Y to turn that one slot into a dual wielding one.

Heck, maybe there's a way to consolidate both of your one-handed weapons into a single dual-wielding slot, but they didn't show that, so we can only speculate. But it's clear that you can have up to four weapons (both slots devoted to a dual-wielding configuration). But, it's still two slots for your guns, so I'm quite fine with it.

This is all fine and dandy but notice that they did not show how to get out of dual-weilding, does that mean (though unlikely) that you would have to switch both your dual weapons with a new weapon to be able to throw nades again? And when you switch weapons while dual-weilding, i believe that you will be able to press either "y" or "x" to switch out their respective weapons for a new one-handed weapon. To throw nades or go back to normal gunning maybe you will have to press and hold "y" again. In my opinion that looks like the easiest way to change weaps. And as a side note, everyone noticed those explosives on the vid right? any ideas on how they work or are used? I figure they are possitioned and left for proximity detonation but w/e right?

Yes, they did, he just clicked the option to dump the needler and the SMG, it was obvious.

I believe that some of you are thinking much too hard. Instead of thinking about the weapon slot - think about the weapon itself. For example, you would still be able to carry the shotgun in one slot and a battle rifle in the other. Obviously. When you're wielding a weapon that has the feature of double wield, then it simply opens the possibly of picking up another weapon that is capable of double wield. Period. I fail to see what all the arguements are.
