Nice grammar by the way. And way to sound like a 14 year old. Why insult a random person on a forum? Why not act intelligent and just state what you feel and move on?
The jetpack was never used in Halo 3 and in Ghosts of Onyx the Spartan 3's had to use EVA harnesses on their space op where Kurt is blown off course. Master Chief never used the jetpack to get to the cryo pod at the end of Halo 3. Look at the ending of Halo 3, and watch the Master Chief's back, there are differences. Strange he never used the jetpack in any 3 of the other halos where it woyld have been nice to but this one he can.
The books have obvious discrepencies with the games which makes it not as an enjoyable to a big halo fan. Again, all I'm saying is that they better not have big discrepencies since its a new developer trying to take the halo franchise in a new direction.
They used external EVA equipment when Kurt was kidnapped by ONI because they were all still in Mark IV at that point, remember it was set before Reach fell, and Mark V was only introduced a short time before that point, and even then it didn't have built in EVA equipment, that was introduced on the Mark VI.
The only other opportunity he had where the built in thrusters would have been helpful was the part "Return to Sender" in Halo 2, no use for them at all in Halo 3 so why bother showing them?
So, what is your source that MK. VI has built-in thruster packs? I have asked this many times, and no one has provided one.
You know why? Because there isn't one. Because this is conjecture being stated as fact.
I watched the birth of this whole "Built-in thruster packs!" thing. It started with one user claiming ALL MJOLNIR armor (Mk. V included) had built in thruster packs, using a carefully selected quote from TFoR to support it. Another user then provided the FULL quote, which showed that they were EXTERNAL thruster packs, put on over the armor. At that point, the OP changed gears and claimed that only MK. VI has built in thruster packs, brushing aside all claims to the contrary with hand-wavium about them always being there, but never used. Then, it spread like wildfire, and I'm getting really tired of everyone mindlessly repeating it ad nausium, and getting angry when someone, like me, sets them straight.
Do you have a source that says it doesn't?
I know that it came about from a fan's interpretation, but there is no evidence to contradict it, and until we get something official it's better than screaming about it not being line with canon. I'm not saying you're doing that, I'm just saying it's better than that alternative.
