Read ONLY if U hate reach & hope 4 halo 4.

I'm not sure if a thread has ever been made about this topic so I decided to make one now.

Summary of my life in halo 3 - I started halo 3 about a 2 years ago. Played a lot until i got my 50. Absolutely loved the game. I played every day that i could. Still today I love and miss the good old days of halo 3.

Halo reach came out and screwed (just about) everything up. Halo 3 to me was a game about cooperation, team work, and individual skill. After a year i had those things down pretty well.

Halo reach's armor abilities made my 2 years of work worthless. I quit mainly because of armor abilities (AA).
AA's destroyed the idea of halo because they got rid of the most valued things to me - cooperation, team work, and individual skill. Example - You don't need any help when you can click a button to go into armor lock.

I'm not one of those who just hates armor lock... I hate ALL of the armor abilities. Even those of you who like sprint... that is not what halo 1-3 had in mind.

I want halo 4 to fix the huge mistakes that reach put on the playing field. I want the multiplayer to be similar to that of halo 3. This includes

-Br's
-Jump height (make it same as halo 3)
-NO ARMOR ABILITIES.

Now answer the poll.

Do you share a view similar to mine?

--------------------------------------

I forgot something! - The ranking system!

I personally loved the ranking system in halo 3. It showed who could reach the highest skill and who could not. With Halo reach's ranking system EVERYONE could reach the highest rank. I loved Halo 3's ranking system because it better showed who was good and who was bad. Even though majority of it was because of bad team mates.... you all know that. lol

Im curious of your opinions on the ranking system too guys.

Halo 4 will be Halo 4 gameplay, it will not be like Reach and it will not be like Halo 3. It will be different like all Halo titles have been(apart from ODST).

Hate is a strong word.

I don't mind Reach, although the gameplay is broken and feels very awkward at times.

But I don't hate any game. That is just a stupid statement to make.

I don't know why you think I would have been offended by that

There's no point holding such strong emotions towards a game that doesn't suit your taste... I mean it's not like the Reach disc beats you up at school or slept with your girlfriend

gotta love bnet, whenever you disagree with someone you're accused of being a troll

Also I don't think many people on this forum hate Reach unless they are young and immature enough to use the word out of context.

I like Reach, it can be a fun game. I just get bored of it after about 2 hours. Halo 4 need's to be a lot different IMO. I gave Halo 3 3 years of my life and i just can't play the same game anymore.

Yes. I want Halo 4 to be very similar to Halo 3

Yeah I believe my experiences have been similar to yours in that reach was a let down for me. The DMR takes way more skill than the BR due to the bloom, and there is no doubt regarding that issue. But the AA's took halo in a whole new direction. Granted, Bungie actually takes risks (no other titles that I can think of have made such colossal changes to their game). One thing that I would really like to emphasize is jump height and grenade power. In Halo 3, the grenades were weaker, AND you could jump higher, so they were balanced. Now, in Reach, the jump height and duration is pitiful. What is worse is that grenades are even more powerful. I didn't see the logic in the thinking during the game development. Surely they must (MUST) have anticipated how armor lock would turn out. When I heard about Halo 4 I really started hoping again for the good old Halo 3 days. I hope that the game will play similarly to Halo 3. I have bought Halo games up to now because I like the gameplay. Why Bungie has opted to try and fix and redesign what isn't broken is beyond me.

I agree the dmr is a p.o.s and so are the armor abilities I would want halo 4 to atleast play like halo 3 or halo 2.

Go halo 3!!!! Reach is a nice change of pace..... sometimes! H3 is way more fun aand actually feels like a halo game tru skill actually feels more rewarding as well. And please give us back the BR what was bungie thinking putting that crappy DMR in to replace everybodies baby? BR, NO AAs and the old ranking system back please. Yea its real fun playing firefight for 2 years straight to be an inhereiter ya..... -blam!-

  • 06.14.2011 2:01 AM PDT

How stupid is it to open a poll for classic MP like H3 and only want Reach-MP-Hater to answer!?
Sorry, but if u watched H4-Trailer u should have noticed that H4 will likely have Abilities... f.e. a Booster! ;)
So if U aren´t able to learn MP different to H3, u only have to stay here... or try Classic PL... it´s without AA.

You mean the OMR...Overpowered Marksman Rifle. After I played big team on hemmorage for the first time and drove in the Scorpion and suffered damage from DMRs I lost all respect for the game. Same thing with the Banshee and sniper. Basically reachs gameplay is f**ked. It makes no sense and caters to the noobs, I long for competitive Halo.

I created this poll in search of people like you. Thank you so much for your input on this topic.

My brother loves reach and plays it often and informs me of the things he doesn't like. because of my refusal to play i forgot to mention grenade power. That is another important thing to note.

Anyways, Im happy we are on similar ground.

My major goal is to find a large sum of people similar in views so that we can be heard, and that we want halo 4 to be the best it can be. Without the "flaws" reach has created.

I love Halo and Bungie. The only games you'll see me play thats NOT halo are Battlefield BC2 Battlefield 1943, Flight Sims, Oblivion, Skyrim, and Minecraft and CoD on occasion.

I agree, Battle Rifles beat the living -blam!- out of Designated Marksman Rifles, but -blam!- you, armor ablilities kick ass and the only thing i liked about 3 was some armor was awesome and looks bad in Reach, and there is no fall damage. I am waiting for halo 4, but the only REAL bad thing i hate about reach is that some of the levels in the campaign really bite ass. I'm glad, for once, you can play as a different spartan and customize his armor for campaign, and not just multiplayer. I love all of the halos. My least favorite is 2, but it still beats cod. P.S. The 3 ranking system might of been more accurate, but I dont really care if I have to rank up in order to get more armor. So in 1 way, 3 ranks are better, but in another, reach ranks are.

After playing Reach, the gameplay in Halo 3 seems unbearably slow- sprint and evade help fix that. In addition, I feel that the DMR is better than the BR. The BR was overpowered in H3 and if it is included in Halo 4, you can expect it to be nerfed. For these reasons I voted 'no'.

On a side note, I do agree that the ranking system in Halo 3 is better than what we have in Reach. I'd like to see a combination of the two: You have your rank that is determined by credits, and then you also have a seperate skill level. For example, if you looked at your teammates you might see a Recruit with a skill level of 1 or a Warrant Officer with a skill levek of 4. If you play enough games, your rank will increase independent of the skill level.

Armor lock could also be fixed by limiting the number of uses per life. It can (surprisingly) be useful when you are bombarded by ghosts while playing Elite Slayer.

Just my 2 cents.

Halo: Reach is a much better game when you play it and actually try it. People like you post false facts/statements against Halo: Reach when Halo: Reach is actually a really good game to play and enjoy.

I guarantee all you did is start up a game, play it for like 10 minutes and never played it again. Maybe if you give it a try you would realize that it's actually a fun game. And it's a video game for Christ sakes, you shouldn't be making such a big deal about it. Halo: Reach is a game to enjoy and have fun, instead you post threads all about you complaining about it and not enjoying when none of us care.

Your a corporate grade 1, play some Halo: Reach and then maybe I'll listen to your complaints. Great DAY.
