Vista will run on the new Intel based Macs. This means: Halo 2 on the Mac! Rejoice! So, if you have the money, or just have extremely generous parents, get an Intel based Mac. They are fast enough and beyond. Twice as fast as the iMac G5, the Intel iMac will run Vista smoothly, along with its 256mb GDDR3 Radeon x1600 PCIX graphics processor, a top of the line card, which is sure to run some of the most taxing games at full capacity. All we Mac users have to worry about is either Microsoft or Apple coding in a blocking program to prevent Vista functionality on Mac. That would just SUCK.

We don't have to worry about Apple doing anything to prevent people getting Windows to run on a Mac, since they've explicitly stated as much.

It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

yea macs blow for gaming. Check out tomshardware for gpu benchmarks when comparing cards between macs and windows based pc's.

I rember seeing a benchmark of the 6800 line of cards. The macs consistantly scored 30 or more fps less than the windows cards. (keep in mind, they are the same exact videocards being compared)

I wouldn't say they 'Blow' but, infact, they're really not that bad, considering how much you see Halo video's fromm the PC that people have made and the graphics are so bland. I've always had it at max since it came out.

I bought a Radeon 9800, then i realized that a 9600 could do the same for halo. Boy was that a stupid descision. I also needed more RAM, because the card only has 125mb, and the computer has 520. I need about a gig to get halo to run perfectly.

By the way, the new macs are basically the same as PCs now, because they use the same processor brand. The new macs' reviews state that they're very good gaming platforms. Stop Mac Bashing. You don't see me going "OMFGLOLPCSSUCKLOLOMFGGETAMACLOLAMIRITEWINKWINKNUDGENUDG E" do you? No.

Well, you never know how companies are, intel might do something becasue right now intel is still mainly focused on the pc section of computers, so they could tone down the processors speed a bit, so the pc processors run faster. Mircosoft could do the same thing, they could make two versions 1 for pc and 1 for mac's the macs could have a toned down version with less abilities and features. Becasue right now, everyone is still mainly focusing on PC's.

Don't drink to excess– You might shoot at tax-collectors... and miss

Computer: Power Mac G5 CPU Type: PowerPC G5 (2.2) Number Of CPUs: 2 CPU Speed: 1.8 GHz L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB Memory: 1.25 GB Bus Speed: 900 MHz

ATi Radeon X800 XT Mac Edition
Display Type: LCD Resolution: 1680 x 1050 Depth: 32-bit Color

Same processor does not mean same computer. There's a lot about the Mac hardware architecture besides the processor that's different, not just the processor chip.

Now that Apple and Intel are working together, Intel has no bias anymore. Any attempt to sabotage the apple intel processor would ruin their partnership. Intel are not "friends" with MSoft. They aren't conspiring. The current intel chip inside the new iMacs is twice as fast as the 2.8mhz (mind you, more data pipelines! lower # does not mean slower!) PPC G5, which is still clocked faster than the current top intel PC processor. There is no conspiracy to put a "cap" on the iMac's processor. Apple would ditch intel if this were to happen, sending intels profits plummeting.

Macs may or may not be camparible to pcs, but due to the image, you generally pay more than you would for the same hardware in a pc.

Before anyone rants at me, go check what Im talking about.
