You were totally and absolutely correct in every way, I don't know why we were arguing, you're so amazing I should never have doubted you.

I've never seen the flood doing something similar.

but we haven't seen a full flood outbreak yet have we? therefore we can't make assumptions based of "little" infections.

What difference does the size of an outbreak make? The Gravemind is conscious and has plenty of biomass. If anything, it should be easier for the Gravemind to evolve those forms he has due to their comparatively low numbers.

More genetic material, more to infect, more knowledge to gain, more ways to evolve.

The flood have evolved to what we know now due to them infecting another galaxy then returning. The "nids" have infected what 10 minor galaxys around the milky way right? One that is why they are so deadly due to what they got out of that.

The flood is a early form of them, let the flood fully infect several minor galaxys and then come back at me with all this.

As many are fond of saying : The Gravemind has never died! He does not need more knowledge because he still has all the knowledge of the Forerunners at his disposal as well as plenty of human and Covenant knowledge. The Gravemind has enough genetic material to cover almost every square inch of High Charity and that is not enough?

We do not know the Flood have infected another galaxy. The ships they arrived on are not of this galaxy, yes, but that does not mean they infected another galaxy.

By the way it's a dozen major galaxies as well as a few minor ones.

I am going to wait until cruptum is over to say anything about the gravemind and until we know for a fact he shouldn't be used as an example.

To me i believe the prisoner will end up getting infected in which turn into the gravemind we know. there are too many things that put them together; not to mention that non of the "proto graveminds" we know of (3) look or act anything like the mind we know and they all lived while the gravemind was still active. i don't think the gravemind is a true or actual stage in flood development or atleast not the one we know.

The fact of humanity not fighting a gravemind despite the flood having hundreds of worlds also goes in hand. yes people say "they were primitive" which equals natural. So until the gravemind issue has been settled i won't even touch it.

And yes we know from cryptum that they infect another galaxy before returning. hence the 10,000 year absence and them returning far more advanced.

4. HEY! The Federation is pretty competent and I feel that they can take on the Forerunners. The Fed can travel light years in minutes,
So can the Forerunners. generate any kind of food, meh, when you can build a planet in a couple of days and shift it into subspace, that somewhat seems banal in comparison teleport objectsand the Forerunners had the same capability., time travelthis is the game breaker here., and stop powerful energy weapons with shields.AND SO CAN THE FORERUNNERS.

Why the hostility?

Oh and it is balanced. It's a defensive buff, and the only way it'll hurt you is if you are stupid enough to walk up to it and punch/fire a rocket/smash into it with a ground vehicle.

2. armor lock isn't balanced since it is only defensive.

3. ODSt didn't have multiplayer far as i am aware

4. there are a few races that can actually beat or compare to the forerunners.

For example:

Compete:

The Culture
The Rakatan
The Celestials
The Xel 'Naga

Will stomp:

The Xeelee (no need to explain)
Time Lords (unless the Forerunners had time travel)

And thats all I can think of. The Forerunners are not the pinnicale of technological achievement in science fiction. Their are a few--though only a few--who could compare.
The rakatan could possibly beat them, i agree there.

Thats the issue and you just contradicted yourself.

bungie clearly said around beta time that ALL AAs will be balanced in terms of being used offensively and defensively.

sprint-balanced
evade-balanced
jetpack-balanced

Hell the dropshield is more balanced than armor lock and i have been supporting the notion that they swap the two. Armor lock is purely defensive therefore it isn't balanced.

regarding AL: take it out of slayer gamemodes and close-quater-combat-maps. leave it for objective gametypes and especialy big maps with lots of vehicles. BTB objective has become a splatterfest. me not likey.

regarding ODST: i love that game. i love that campaign. MP is halo 3 MP? gosh, i though that was perfect, compared to reach - according to the forum experts.

regarding "culture-tier civilisation": i once read this article about how orcas are considered to have a culture. halo 4 archenemy = evil space-dolphins?

in all honesty stargate is far too inconsistent and therefore shouldn't be used. even if it were the ancients on our plane would still lose to the forerunners.

and i am ready to take punishment by explaining why.

Time travel, go back and kill the Forerunners' leaders before they were even born. Bit of a game breaker there.

Put themselves out of phase, mount the Dakara device on a ship, sneak up to a Fortress-class, activate the device, get on board, hijack the ship, fly it back to one of their outposts, slap over 9000 ZPMs on it, and laugh as the Forerunners get bent backwards.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

Are these, "facts," that you're trying to throw at us? Some of them are pretty much right, but others are just, well, wrong. I don't even know what you're doing...
