I heard about it... um, what is it?

We don't know yet

I've heard about it, but nothing about what it is. My first thought is that Bungie and NASA teamed up. I doubt that's it.

There is speculation that Bungie Aerospace is a separate studio, which has been established within, or outside of the core Bungie offices.

As for their plans, there has again been speculation that Destiny is the title of Bungie's next project, and Bungie Aerospace are developing a unique online service for it. This theory is derived from the fact Destiny is thought to be a MMO, and would probably require a sophisticated online facility, to compliment the experience. This online project could, quite possibly, be Crimson.

As for exactly what Bungie Aerospace is - we don't know.

I'm doubting that Aerospace will be an online service devoted to Destiny seeing as though they're going to be telling us, in explicit detail, what Bungie Aerospace is Bungie Day yet we're not being told what Destiny is yet. If you go by what is being hinted by Urk in the recent News Story about Bungie Mobile he says that's the first small step into the Mobile market. I think that Bungie Aerospace might be an area where you get Mobile Games from or something to that effect. Then again, I have no idea. I'll probably look back on this post and laugh at myself for what I'm speculating at this Bungie Day.

Good point.

Mobile Games are something which Bungie hasn't exactly explored yet. So, it sort of makes sense for them to want to establish another studio dedicated to games such as this, while the main studio focuses on developing core titles.

The Mobile Games could even be set in various parts of the Destiny fictional universe, and give us further insight into the lore and fiction surrounding it.
