I am so gonna push the button for "Classic Mode" with the Anniversary release. You?

Anyone that wants to play the Classic would simply go play it. Halo: CE is still up on the computer. But I will be buying and playing the Classic option as well just to see how similar it is.

Yes, but this time with things to look for like terminals and achievements to... achieve.

Holier then thou

Its kinda interesting that my friend got me into Halo: CE in the first place and I fell in love with it (outside of the tank shooting and warthog drunk driving)..

Played through Halo:CE on Heroic at first, found only one mission a pain and jumped into legendary two weeks before December. Week of Christmas I had beaten Legendary Solo. Made a call to my friend who had also beaten it and was running a Friday Night Halo Night party. This is a tradition that has never been missed by me for ten years. My friends and I have never stopped playing Halo: CE and by far our favorite maps are Sidewinder/BG.

We immediately jumped into the Lan parties and found a nice population of it in San Diego/Los Angeles though we never played for the competitive side, we were more of the social cats that simply enjoyed jumping into the fray with other fellow players and still coming up 5th or whatever. We also first found out how epic it is to be shot in the air with plasmas while in the warthog lol...

But here i am spilling my CE story and you all are probably like, "who is this kid?" well, I was a kid at 13. Now, the young man at 23. So get off my lawn kids...

Haha, I was a kid too when I started playing CE in 2001. Unfortunately for me, my friends and our "weekend Halo parties" died out over the years, and now don't even exist. However, I think that is due to the unfortunate ending of friendships for various reasons.

True veterans of Combat Evolved ought to have:
Grabbed the early Banshee on AotCR,
Saved all the crew and marines on 'Flawless Cowboy',
forumulated tactics that allows them to ditch the sniper and Rocket launcher,
take down a red or blue Elite with nothing more than the AR,
had Marines still standing after 'Belly of the Beast',
Ditched the Tank in favor of the Warthog,
charge up the staircase on PoA and grenade the covies before the bulkhead doors open,
Beat a pair of Hunter's to death,
take out a Jackal with the needler,
I could go on and on,
All on legendary

I played Halo: CE Halo 2 and all the rest i have beaten the campaigns but only 3 onward on legendary what does that count me as. I was like 7 when I first played it.

The "blessings" of excess are only a burden on us.

Do you play Halo Ce Custom Edition? So more fun than Reach.

I did beat Solo Legendary, at least until the Flood came. I got bored after that. But up until that point, I was using the plasma rifle, plasma pistol, and pistol. If there's one thing that makes me regret my harsh remarks about CE, it has to be the reliable weapons.

It's a classic, but classic does not always mean best.

I did everything except 5, 6, and 8.

Edit:

Whoops, I meant 2, 5, and 7.

I'm 12. And I played CE with my father on launch day, still play it now, all Halo games completed on Legendary.

Playin' Since 2001

I guess I'm a Halo veteran then. Back in day Halo CE was the reason I bought an Xbox. Jesus Christ! I was 11yrs old when I started playing and now I'm 20. Time flies!

Me and a Friend use to play Coop Campaign so much, then we would have two other friends over and do a good ol' 2v2 splitscreen. Probably most fun I've had as a gamer.

Dark Lord I can't agree more. I was die hard PS2 up until my buddy brought over his xbox shortly after it was released and had Halo. I started playing campaign and instantly became addicted. Since then I've been a die hard halo fan but I can't agree more that Halo Combat Evolved was by far the best Halo game made to date. I am quite excited to be able to play some of the original maps over live although I really do wish they stuck with the original multiplayer gameplay because that is going to change it so much. But it is something that had to be done so either way I'm excited for it. Everyone if you haven't played the first Halo on legendary man up and get it done. It's just that amazing.

If you're 12 and played CE on launch that would make you 2 when you first played Halo. No 2 year old can actually play Halo. They can sit there, hold a controller, and push buttons, but they're not going to be playing it.

Yes, I am glad that some people know the true meaning of Halo. Thanks for the support.

Is it wrong that I dislike playing on Legendary?

Personally, I've beaten Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 on Legendary. Never bothered with Halo 3, ODST, or Reach. For 3 and Reach I just beat them on Normal to know the story. It's not that I couldn't beat them on Legendary, it's just that it doesn't interest me in the least.

After beating CE and 2 on Legendary I (for the most part) just stuck around on Normal. I like it because I don't feel pressured when playing to do good. Just to sit back, have fun, and laugh at the situations I get myself into. So I wouldn't say it's wrong at all.

They're trolling her.......then they're gonna troll me.......ZOMGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!11111one!!11

Yep I saw the very first commercial for that game when I was 11 and got it on Christmas. I still play it to this day and I am definitely looking forward for Anniversary. I'm going to be spamming that "switch graphics" feature every chance I get in the little nooks and crannies where I used to explore to see how much it has changed.

Bungie.Match.com: Our Johnson knows what the ladies like.

Technically my love for Halo started in '06, but the first time I played a Halo game was in 2010, and it wasn't even one of Bungie's. It was Halo Wars. I am in no way a veteran. -.-

Played it back in 2001 when I was 8. My first experience was the Maw on Ledgendary.

Theres nothing wrong with it, since everyone can play at their own pace on their own difficulty. Personally, I love playing on Legendary, occasionally causing me to think on my feet and rely on my quick reflexes, and even seldomly catching me off guard. I just can't stand playing on anything else, even on b1tch heroic. Even thats too easy, and I don't like going through a game and just wreaking everything in my path. I mean, I do it on Legendary, but its less so easy and I'm just good and have been playing for 10 years. Even when trying to get achievements, I have to play it on Legendary. Anything but Legendary just doesn't feel like Halo to me.
