We will know soon enough, but it will require thought. Deep thought. Mendicant Bias must be found. The Mantle will soon follow.

people keep saying that if the forerunners meet humans, there will be a war. (comments from halo 4 discussions)
why?
i thought forerunners were nice.
why did forerunners give humans their life back after the halo fired??
i love the halo games.. im just not good with the story.(i know half of it)
Off-topic:Actually, I'll bet you don't know a quarter of it. The Halo universe is extremely vast - details procured in the most articulated ways possible, in the most minute crevices of story. Even I don't think I know nearly half of it, and I could damn well write my own book from what I know. If the expansion of the story continues at the rate it's been, it could very well become a viable study of sorts, on a moderate scale (though any real use would be hard to scavenge from said study in reality).
On-topic:
Humans and Forerunners were at war prior to the first firing of the Halo Array. Humans (roughly on a near-equal technology tier to Forerunners) were being pushed (by the newly-discovered Flood of the time) into Forerunner space, and war broke out due to it (more specific details are available in "Halo: Cryptum"). The Humans were fighting (at the very least) a war of three fronts; Human, Flood, and Forerunner. The fact the Humans were able to withstand such a war confirms their supposed technology tier at that time, and also exhibits Human perseverance as many sci-fi fans have come to know it in multiple series, including Halo.
The Didact was a master at Human obliteration during these wars, as well. Then again, he was Forerunner (likely one of the most bad-ass Forerunners to live), so obliteration came to both him and his species with near-natural ease, however also immense sorrow. He seems as though he didn't want to attack so many, but he was somehow able to plow through the feeling as the war progressed.
Let's hope, should the Forerunners make a return in Halo 4, they'll be a little friendlier than the last time we met. Even with our technology so advanced at that time, it wasn't enough. We can only guess as to the speed of our annihilation by them in 2553, our technology as ill-advanced as it is.
