Halo was about the Human-Covenant war and about the Flood and Forerunner technology between it. I don't really know where Halo 4 would be going, but it sounds stupid. As much as I love Halo, and can't wait to play a new Halo game, I believe this is unprecedented. The story of the Human-Covenant war ended with the Elites leaving Earth, no longer hostile to humans, with the Covenant shattered. No more Truth, no more Flood, and no more Halos threatening the Galaxy. Master Chief is now drifting in space now separated from the other half of the frigate in deep space.
Look... Let's face it. Halo: Reach wasn't as epic as a lot of people thought it would be. There was no Master Chief in it, who is the face of Bungie. I was expecting Reach to go about the plotline of the book, The Fall of Reach. Nope. We got Noble team, and a game completely random about Reach, with the entire invasion of Reach downplayed. The events didn't even go along with already-accepted timelines from the book. For those of you who may not have read the books, you will probably enjoy it much more than the game itself.
Don't get me wrong. I love Halo. I love Bungie. I love the Master Chief. But why do big companies have to continuously try to suck as much money out of a franchise as they can, often ruining a great storyline?
I've spent countless hours and many years playing Halo games. After Halo 3, well... To me it began to stop feeling like Halo. I love the story to Halo. It's a masterpiece. Art. But I think it's beginning to go down the toilet.
Wherever the Halo franchise is going next, I hope it won't turn into Call of Duty, and a game is made every year just to suck the money out of people. Please, may the storyline make sense, make it feel like a Halo game.
Either way it doesn't look like the Master Chief got to sleep very long...
