Windows Vista is Windows XP with new skin and a stupid 3d windows mode which is already on different OS's including Windows.

HALO 2 PC is just a way to sell more Vista OS , doesnt matter what Bungie says , they know it , it just to sell more Vista , but im pretty sure someone will create a patch to make it run on WindowsXP , come on its Microsoft. is the same thing.

Dont listen to him, hes just mad that his parents wont pay for vista and then he cant get halo 2.

Windows vista is basically an updated version of xp. Its much smoother and takes advantage of your hardware, and is supposidly alot more stable. For instance if you have a 64 bit processor(amd 64 models, and certian intels), then it will run in 64 bit mode, meaning it will be much smoother and faster. If you have a 64 bit processor now, you can try the windows x64, which is basically xp in 64 bit format. I have tried it, and it is a little bit faster, you can tell especially when the OS is booting. Also vista is supposed to be much more effecient with using ram. Another thing they did was get rid of the registry, which is the spot virus's attack. That way programmers will have to find another place to attack, and develop a new strategy.

there are alot of rumors, but from what ive been hearing, it should be nice. I'm not saying that it will make your computer run amazingly if you have a bad computer to begin with, but you might notice a little bit of preformace difference.

It was supposed to be completely programmed from scratch, meaning it isn't just an updated xp. I don't know if it was all from scratch, but its definatly not added features to xp.

Impossible to know until Vista's release. One can obviously not listen to MS here either, as they're biased. And since Bungie would develop and market a Vista product, they are too. As for the latest Vista betas, I haven't seen any noticeable differences there, and it's impossible to know how much exactly things will improve in the performance area when it gets out of beta. It should improve somewhat, but hard to know how much. And of course XP also takes advantage of your hardware.

Indeed, so since XP 64 exists, this is no big reason to get Vista as for the 64-bit support.

I'm not sure where you heard this; the latest Vista releases seem to have a similar RAM usage as XP. I.e. 512 MB RAM pretty much mandatory for a reasonably pleasant experience, or 1 GB if you want to play modern resource consuming games on it.

No, they didn't. Even regedit is there. Vista isn't as a big remake as first planned.
