I'm trying to improve my writing skills, so I've decided to at least attempt to write a fanfic. It's about Hunters, which is an almost entirely unexplored part of the game's canon, so I thought that would be a good place to start. Please offer your opinion on it, and please don't sugarcoat anything. Anyway, here is the prologue, which is all I've written so far.
Prologue
March 5, 2541
Unidentified Planet
Ehoda Mena Eto stared straight ahead at the incoming vehicle, roughly 2,000 "meters" -as the humans called them- away. Once it was slightly closer, Ehoda was able to make out some details of the primitive vehicle, which he identified as a Human Warthog, although it was badly damaged. Once it was about 1,000 "meters" away, the Unggoy and Kig-yar under his command started getting nervous- the Warthog was heading straight for them. Ehoda stood tall, as well as the leading officer of their relitively small squad, a Sangheili Ultra. Once it was within 500 "meters", even the Ultra started getting nervous. The vehicle was close enough to make out the passengers. One "Marine", and, manning the turret at the back, was a Demon, one of Humanity's most powerful warriors, capable of bringing even a Mgalekgolo down with ease. Still, Ehoda did not move. The Unggoy were squealing with terror. As the Warthog cut their distance to 300 "meters", Ehoda crouched into his combat stance with his shield covering his chest and neck areas, and his Fuel Rod arm pointed at the incoming vehicle, and it glowed green. Several moments beofre the Warthog reached them, the Unggoy, as well as the Kig-yar, screamed and ran off. Ehoda didn't give them a second glance. He had to time this just right.
The Warthog reached them, aiming to run over Ehoda. Just before impact however, he moved with startling speed to his right, swinging his shield arm toward the vehicle. They collided, and metal crunched against metal. At the sudden stop, the Human driver was thrown from his seat into the glass windshield of his vehicle. Ehoda noticed its head was bleeding. If it wasn't dead already, it would be soon. The Demon was thrown as well, and collasped into a messy heap a dozen "meters" from the Warthog. The Ultra with Ehoda raised his Plasma Rifle, and fired at it. The Demon rolled over, narrowly missing the lethal rounds. Ehoda ran at it, raising his shield, and brought it swiftly down, attempting to neutralize it. He missed as it sidestepped. It reached behind its back, and brought out an unfamiliar Human rifle. It didn't aim at Ehoda though. It aimed at the Ultra. It fired a 5 round burst, and the Shangheili's shields fell. He roared in suprise, and the Human fired again, with all 5 rounds hitting in his mouth, and the Ultra collasped, dead. Purple blood filled his mouth. Ehoda growled, and attepted to fire a Fuel Rod round at the Demon. He fired, but the Demon evaded, started to run toward him, jumped, and somersaulted over him, raised its rifle, and fired a burst of rounds into Ehoda's unprotected back. He growled in pain, and threw his shield arm at it, but it evaded. It then sidestepped behind him, and fired again, and threw a Human grenade into his back. It detonated, and he roared in extreme pain as over a dozen worms that he was made of dissintegrated inside himself, and many others were damaged. He stumbled as he tried to maintain consciousness. He almost collapsed, and saw the Human grinning, and he knew he was losing this battle. He couldn't let that happen. He brought himself up, and charged at the Demon, something it obviously wasn't expecting. It fell in a messy heap, and Ehoda brought his shield up, and brought it down on the Human. Unsatisfied it was dead, as Demons had a reputation of seemingly coming back from the dead, he armed his right arm, charged, and released a 3 second burst into it. Its armor dissintegrated, and much of its inner organs were burned to ash. It would not be coming back.
Ehoda Mena Eto stomped on the ground, and sang.
