Subject: Getting outside of maps, the good old days

I think most of us agree this was one of the most fun things to do in Halo 2 (lol rhyme!)

I think one of the things I liked most was getting outside of regret, and going back to the part on Delta Halo where you start, only to find that it is replaced by a lake!

Discuss you're out-of-map stories!

Subject: Getting out side of maps

You know who I am.

I used to love running out of the boundries on every map. I'd out run the loading times so that nothing would load it. Everything would be quiet and stuff would be missing.
I still do that to just mess around.

Outskirts is obviously one of the bests seeing that you can walk around the city entirely, hovering over blackness for miles and miles, however, when I found out that you could walk above the floating gardens in Gravemind, I fell in love.

I love it all! God, everything about those fun little cookies and hidden paths make a nostalgic shiver spiral throughout my spine.

There are way too many memories to list. Halo 2 worked magic in this aspect. Even if the developers did not mean for this kind of stuff to happen, (getting out of maps at that magnitude,) they created something mystical and quite beautiful.

What floating gardens in Gravemind and how did you get out?

That's what I was thinking, The Great Journey Zen Garden.

Speaking of chuckles, let's all lol at IonicPaul, who makes friends with bugs to make up for his lack of human contact.

It's just a shame. Things like these will never be again. Games these days soon won't have ways to get out of their maps and exploit things for fun. They're just too well-made. And we can't blame developers for removing such bugs, because they're doing their jobs, but all the same, it's disappointing that the subsequent Halo games have had fewer and fewer fun exploits like these. That's why, even though I didn't play much Halo 2, I have a great respect for it.

Lol, it's not bugs if they leave easter eggs and other things to find. Frankie once said that Bungie didn't care about the exploring but if players wanted to explore, they could. They didn't give us Sputnik, Black Eye and all the nades we needed for nothing.

@ quikdog - Thanks, that gun one is special to me. It was my T2T for H2.

No. I said what I meant. The Hanging Gardens, (Sorry, I thought they called them floating,) and the Vally of Tears are what I was referring to and what I get above each time.

If this is new, (I just assumed it was not seeing that I do it every time,) I can post it up on my youtube account which is the same as my Bungie account name and GT.

So I clicked on your link and it says High Charity for both. There were no pics so please describe or give a link with a pic. If it's High Charity I think I know what you are talking about but I'd like to make sure.

Giggity Giggity Goo - Quagmire

Getting on top of the crane in Headlong was really fun. Getting out of Zanzibar was also a great time. One of the easier ones was getting out of Coagulation/Blood Gulch.

It was relatively simple, you get on top of the teleporter box thing, sword cancel to the top of the map, sword cancel up another wall, walk straight, massive drop, land on random invisible barrier

Halo 2 for Life!

the modded way is better lol, I just flew to the edges of the map.

modes making exploring to easy though.

Have you been to the bottom of the bottomless pit on water works? I have, probably one of the coolest places in all of halo 2. or at least that is how it felt with all the vehicles we had down there.

I used yelo twice and it almost ruined H2 for me. I purged it because it was too much like a drug, calling out to me.

One thing you should do, drop down to the bottom in High Charity at the Chandelier room (lots of buggers). It's where there's four platforms extending and you have to slide along 2 walkways.

If you peek over the edge you can see a circle of some kind. Drop down there and tell me what you think.

There were easter eggs out there? I just thought it was a fun time in a ghost boosting up and down mountains

There is a hidden switch that does, well, nothing known yet.

Yup, BSOD switch, the placeholder for the (eventually) Regret gondola ride.

Also, High Charity has the same switch, in the Chandelier room. Look to the right after you see the first drones at the sliding ramp area. Look from the first platform (before sliding to another platform). Use a sniper zoom to see.
