We are all going to get banned aren't we?

I would just like to personally state that if you finished reading "the ghosts of onyx" you would learn that the planet was destroyed by nukes and ended up being trillions of sentinels.

Seeing how the legendary planet has a solid opening it isn't the planet onyx not to mention the area doesn't look like the zeta doradus system.

I would also like to point out that onyx in the forerunner language means shield world. so if you say "the legendary planet might be an onyx", you are fine.

/thread.

You end your own thread on the first post. Wow.

Did you just /thread on your OP?
LOL

The sentinels did form the planet Onyx and when they dismantled into trillions,at it's core, only the Dyson Sphere remained. This is also seen by many as Onyx or what's left of it. Otherwise known as "shield world" as you mentioned.

I "ended" the thread becuase i just had to state this, i (and everybody else) are tired of seeing people say the ending planet is onyx.

It could very well be.

"The Forerunners' grasp of Slipspace technology was far more advanced than ours or the Covenant's," Dr. Halsey explained. "I believe this sphere resides in the center of the planet, encapsulated and protected by a Slipspace bubble of compressed dimensionality." "
Halo: Ghosts Of Onyx, page 381

This means that they are still at Onyx. At the centre of the planet.

Who knows?
The trillions of sentinels may have reformed and coated the outer shell of the micro Dyson sphere?
As trillions of sentinels drifting in space for years on end doesn't sound too appealing, but it's still possible.

The planet onyx was destroyed therefore it is not onyx.

the dyson sphere is not onyx.

Who's to say that the sentinels dispersed and then rejoined to form the industrial looking exterior that it currently have. That, or it shares similarities between the Shield World in Halo Wars and The Ghosts of Onyx.

Because that still wouldn't be enough building material for that, it really wouldn't.

Again the one from the book was destroyed leaving only sentinels guarding the core (which would be too small to be seen from a ship) and the one from halowars wasn't the same type for shield world.

I'm with everyone else here: /thread'ing your OP is a ballsy move.

But, yeah, I do agree with you. Anyone who says that the legendary planet is Onyx clearly hasn't read the book.

The thread was suppose to be a simple directory for the people that constantly state it is onyx, i didn't expect people to reply just because i did that.

It's also not practical for John to be at Onyx from a game-making perspective. You can't have that many characters. And, who would the enemy be inside this (presumably) uninhabited shield world? It makes no sense no matter how you look at it.

Well i can say that it is a shield world or a forerunner planet, it is a fact that it is one of the two. IT is also a fact that forerunners will be in the game in some fashion due to the way things have been heading and the ending terminal.

The game is going to be about the larger aspects of halo and MC's destiny as a human. this ties in with cryptum and due to my sense of knowledge i can say "fact" and be sure it is right.

This is quite narrow.

I started up the heated debate on whether the SPARTAN-II in the cryo tube near the end of Reach is really Linda.
I created the Moa XING avatar pic.
Also I earned the All Star nameplate with this submission to Week 14 All Stars http://www.bungie.net/images/News/Inline11/bwu_0415/art/likea boss.jpg

1. I know that it can't be Onyx.

2. My theory states that the center of Onyx has a slipspace portal that transports individuals to a Shield World outside of the galaxy.

I wouldn't say its "your" theory, people have been pushing it way before you even posted that thread.

The sphere is a great way at pushing more characters. MC can re-unite with the spartans and halsey, of whom are stuck in the sphere.

Good point OP.

Another point of interest: Onyx was in UNSC-known space. This planet (supposedly) is relatively close to the Ark (if it is the Legendary Planet)...which happens to be FAR away from any UNSC-known, or UNSC reachable space.

Also: the portal to the Dyson Sphere on Onyx looked differently from what we see in the H4 trailers and pictures. These show a thing on a MASSIVE scale, with the visual style of the Ark Portal.

It's most likely to be a Portal World that brings us to another unknown place.

Who's to say that 343i won't simple retcon it and say that the slipspace bubble was linked to a Shield World outside of the Galaxy?

Not realy.

The Chief could have been drifting for hundreds of thousands of years, and who knows how fast they where traveling?

With the emphasis on could ;)
But a lot of it leads to a conclusion that H4 doesn't play THAT long after H3. Such as Frankie saying the time between H3 and H4 isn't known, but isn't that long.
Also: for a Spartan to still be alive even in cryo after hundreds of thousands of years doesn't seem likely.

Besides: the space between the rough area of the Arks location (and presumably this "planet") and the Orion Arm (UNSC known space) is far too big for them to cross in the most likely time between H3 and 4.

First off. Win! Here, I present you with +1 interwebs and a cookie. (::)

Secondly you're right. (although you already know that).
It's not Onyx, that's not a ballsy or exciting enough move for a game that is meant to set the stage for the next decade of Halo. Oh and it can't be.

I call for stickyness!

well if it is going to take years for the UNSC to find them then it isn't in another galaxy.

not to mention Ajw,anton and i don't think they left the galaxy based off what we know. and if they didn't it would be very local.
