Subject: Flamebait: I don't enjoy playing Halo CE

I can look at it objectively and see that it's good. The levels are well-paced and the story well-told. It is the right level of challenging and the weapons are balanced. But I just don't enjoy playing it.

The ghost will find you

That is your right not to like the game. I did like the game.

I just finished my run-through of the game a while ago, and I can't see myself playing the campaign again anytime soon. It does seem a little repetitive at times.

But I will definitely get the remake.

I couldn't have put it any better. Good job, for putting it in a non-aggressive way.

Repetative indeed. Bungie got a lot of flak for back-tracking through levels in Halo 3. I think a little under half of them either made you fight to point B from A, then go back to A. CE Reuses the entire first half of the game. Reviewers/fans seem to look over that with their nostalgia goggles on. I can only play half of the game at a time, otherwise it feels like a chore.

Recon..??

I absolutely love Halo: CE
but it does get a little boring after a while...
on a semi off topic side-note
I liked both snow-levels.

I respect your opinion, OP (:

I hope you've had fun on the other ones, though!

I respect your opinion, and I can see where you're coming from, OP.

It is repetitive, because in a way...

Pillar of Autumn = The Maw
Truth and Reconciliation = Keyes
Assault on the Control Room = Two Betrayals

However, there were notable differences between each pair of levels.

For example, I think TB was played at night, compared to AotCR, which was played during the daytime. Moreover, AotCR had Sentinels and Flood, as opposed to AotCR, which did not. The objectives of both levels were also different.

I could talk about the other pairs of levels, but I think you get the idea.

Ultimately, it just depends on how you reflect upon the Campaign.

Still play this fantastic game and other than one shot kills to Hunters, i find no flaws to it. Possibly because the sequels went a different direction in how they felt

Repetition is mentioned a fair bit regards to same sections but the encounters within them is always very differently set up. Similarly, levels that are repeated feel altogether different and in anycase familiarity brings a sense of belonging to these wonderous locations. Maybe people rave on and on about it because they are the ones that normally have played it to absolute death- iv'e often heard how people played it to completion once but just didn't see what the fuss was about

I'd be happy playing Halo1 on an island somewhere for the rest of my days.Easily my most played and favourate game

I didn't really think it was that repetetive. Back when I was 6 and playing it for the first time at release I didn't notice they were the same levels. They just seemed so different compared to what they were like when I ran through them the first time. Seems to have stuck with me, still see them as completely different levels even if in my head I know they aren't

Yeah, that would've gone poorly.
