Subject: How To Make Everybody Happy In Halo 4 {Keep It Alive}

Obviously, I doubt it would be possibly to make everybody happy in Halo 4 (the usual haters are inevitable), but 343 will want to appeal to as many people as possible. This includes the people who play for the story, the gameplay, and the multiplayer.

As this thread continues, different people can contribute for what they think will have usiversal appeal. So let's go!


Campaign

It will obviously continue the story of Master Chief and Cortana. Many have stated that they will head towards a Forerunner planet, where they may or may not meet other characters. The benefit of other characters will mean that casual players will feel familiar with other characters, and it will also appeal to those who know the Universe in detail.

The setting may not all be inside this structure, but if it does then the environments should be varied.

It should appeal both to the fans and casuals, so should probably have recognisable Halo campaign features (Warthog run?), but be new and different.)

I'm guessing it will end on a cliffhanger to build up to Halo 5.

Gameplay

General: First person view, the ability to jump, crouch, and all the other familair core Halo gameplay.

Armour Abilities: I can see this being a controverstial subject, with half of the audience being happy if they got removed, and half not being happy.

I had an idea of 'dubbing down' armour abilities. For example, removing Armour Lock (I'm sure most people would be happy), keeping Sprint, Jetpack and Camo, but only making them have a short 'burst'.

For example, a quick burt of speed, high acceleration into the air with the Jetpack but not being in the air for long, and being completely invisible for a few seconds (no radar interference, but still being detectable).

For Forge, I would suggest what Reach has, with a bigger variety of items, an option to change the size of objects, and to change designs (the silver/gray gets old really fast).

If the jetpack ever comes back... Make it a jump-pack.
Short bursts, difficult to control, and make it a pick-up item. Allow like, 7 bursts and then it runs out.

I don't want to see people bypass the map's architecture without missing the ledge and falling to their death. If they're gonna use the jet/jump pack, make it hard as hell to use.

As constructive as OP's thread is: Discussion of forge,gameplay mechanics and so on for Halo 4 don't belong here. So I agree with the quoted post.

By looking at the trailer it looks like where it ended on the legendary ending in halo 3 when master chief and cortana where lost in space on the broken spaceship. So that might be the start of halo 4.

weapons:

standard BR, assault rifle, SMG, slightly more powerful pistol, standard sniper, shotgun, spartan rifle, rocket with lock-on, and enemy counter parts

attachments: ability to have attachments to weapons. in campaign and multiplayer.
and it should be loadout controlled, not player.

ex. attachments:
silencer: undetected wille firing crouched, sniper shots wont leave "smoke".
under barrel: shotgun for assault rifles only.
smoke launcher: ability to cover teammates who are running objective.

vehicles:

Warthog(standard chain gun and Gauss and rice bucket), mongoose, scorpion, hornet, and enemy counter parts.
