Subject: HALO CE Annivarsary & Halo 4 should have a BR, yes?

To be honest, when I first saw all this in the weekly update I thought 2 things.
#1- there is an actual legendary ending but,
#2- No matter what anyone does,(kill all the bobs, hit all switches etc) that until the "time" mentioned in "There'll be another time..." is reached there won't be a legendary ending.

The weekly update by bungie has slowed my hardcore search for what unlocks the legendary ending.

I would want in the next halo for the warthogs to be a little more strong, the rest of the vehicles were fine.
nah they were all too weak. A few bullets from a DMR shouldn't be able to blow up a tank or wraith or even a ghost. It was just ridiculous
not to mention u will have at least 4 people shooting at you at ALL times. Vehicles should have been like halo 3. If say, im on vanhalla, I'm in the banshee flying around pwning people, They start to team shot me with br's and ar's. I die, banshee takes damage, but will run even in the worst condition as long as someone is in the vehicle. They should revert the vehicle damage back to halo 2 were i can have a ghost on fire and still work.

I don't see why it should be excluded from Halo 4. I mean if you have read the books, the BR doesn't even exist during the timelines of Halo:CE so that is ok, but later in the book when the BR was released, it was a standard issue. Besides, the story Halo 4 would prob start off with you leaving the Forward unto Dawn, a human ship, so I don't see why it wouldn't have any BRs in it.
standard.
Issued.

I suspect llamas are secretly wizards. I <3 poptarts n' milk. I like me. Grimick is defined as: a logical parodox, the act of funnaling a potato down your throat, and a deliciously flavored muffin (with pecons and blueberries). Norway is the Swedish word for 'moron'. My sister has cancer, so i get to use handicap parking and cut small children in line at Disneyland.

"The pancake, my friend, has officially been flipped."

Conclusively, -blam!- yes

I think that every vehicle should be like they were in Halo 3, with some exceptions.

1) I want the Revenant
2) I want the Falcon
3) Ghosts have to be nerfed from Halo 3 - putting a limit on their boost effectively does that, so they can't run away ALL the time. Armor abilities did that too, if they're returning for Halo 4. If not, the vehicle itself has to become (just a little) weaker.
4) The warthog has to be beefed up a little to emphasize teamwork. Halo 3 was kind of a lone wolf game when it came to vehicles - that's why I feel like we need the Falcon and a beefed-up warthog.

As for guns, I think it was more satisfying to out-DMR than to out-BR someone, because with the DMR you could actually see your shot go through their head. With the BR, you kind of have to take Halo's word for it that you got a headshot, and with a grain of salt at that, because we all know about the BR's problems in Halo 3.

But anyway, both guns would work in Halo 4 if they changed up the DMR a little, which I hope they do. They would have to give it better zoom, and they will have to keep bloom EXACTLY THE SAME. Reducing bloom even a little will make the DMR a kickass close-up weapon, which would be terrible for weapon balance. The DMR has to be able to beat the AR and BR from a long-to-mid distance, the BR should take power in the mid-to-short range, and the AR should win close up.

Apart from that, I need my melee lunges from Halo 3 back, because I feel like up-close fights just weren't nearly as fun without that. I know people complained about the beatdown-AR combo, but that was strategy. That was the fun of the game right there - do I shoot, or go up close for the beatdown again, or throw a grenade? In Reach, even after most of a year, I still don't find the close-up fights as fun. Not because of Armor Abilities, but because of the lack of melee lunge.

Which reminds me - we also need bleedthrough, which was the essence of Halo 3, and hopefully will be the essence of Halo 4. The lack of bleedthrough damage was a good innovation, but it just sponsored annoying tricks like the sprint/beatdown combo. We need it back to take those away.

Power weapons - they need to be weakened a little from Halo: Reach's standards. The Rocket Launcher and Sniper were, in my opinion, just a little too powerful. In all honesty, the sniper was fine when shooting at humans, but the way it could take down all vehicles in several shots was annoying as hell, and that ability needs to go away.

Dual wielding - I think it had a lot of strategy to it that kind of fell by the wayside. The guns that are reprised will obviously have to be re-balanced, but I enjoyed dual-wielding, and would love to see it again if the game mechanics could be improved (there's no need to drop your second gun when you beatdown, etc.)

As for Armor Abilities, I hope they come back, but it doesn't really matter to me. As long as the Armor Lock is weakened and there are playlists without them, it doesn't matter to me much at all. I don't expect them to return, however.

Extended rant over - that is pretty much all I hope for Halo 4's multiplayer. I know I argued for the return of a lot of H3, but I need several changes in vehicles, I hated how the BR could always win, and I would love to see armor abilities again.

Never leave home without your shotgun.

Honestly, as long as it's in the canon at that time, I'm fine with it being in CE:A as long as 'Non-Classic Weapons' or something is a toggle.

So, that means CE:A could have..

- Spiker
- Plasma Repeater
- Energy Sword (already there, really)
- Fuel Rod Gun (same as sword)
- Beam Rifle
- Focus Rifle
- Battle Rifle (in fact, it SHOULD be there)
- SMG (questionable as its role in Halo 2/3 was identical to the AR in CE and built around the dual wield system)
- Brute Shot (and Brutes)
- Concussion Rifle
- Carbine
- Gauss Warthog
- Drivable Wraith
- Rocket Warthog

Probably missing a few. Also, Engineers, Skirmishers, Brutes and Yanme'e? Bring 'em on!

Offtopic of CE:A, but I hope they have Engineers in Halo 4. After all, they WERE made by Forerunners..

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

If any of those things were added to anniversary then I and most of the people interested would likely keep our money.

waaah waaaah the DMR takes to much skill, I dont like it waaah waaah. Thats honestly all im hearing from you BR kids.

Actually the BR takes a lot more skill than the DMR.....

Lol sure it does thats why its only -blam!- 5 year olds crying about why its gone.

Putting the BR in Halo:CE would just be retarded, especially becuase the pistol is a god canon.

Giggity Giggity Goo - Quagmire

Halo: CEA should not have a BR because the first Halo game didn't have one. Its a total remake of the graphics, not the game.

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

Who nows what weapons you'll use in Halo 4?

  • 06.25.2011 12:55 AM PDT

In Halo 4, sure. CE doesn't need the BR, it already has the pistol.

No, just no, that would ruin the remake.

There is NO BR in Halo CEA, but there could be in Halo 4 as nothing is yet confirmed.
This. Canonically, the PoA never carried any BRs aboard.Posted by: jasonisdaspartan

You guys are going off-topic. However:
The BR fires three shots in a burst, two of which have spread that could, in theory, make only the first round of a burst hit, and the second two miss.
One BR burst is roughly equal in power to a single DMR shot, so A BR has one-third the power of the DMR shot-for-shot.

The BR takes more skill to do the same amount of damage, at range. I'm saying this, having hated the notion that videogames could ever require skill.

the BR isnt in reach because it wasnt invented yet

the DMR is fine ... only if ur a noob and dunno how to use it

I hope sooo much that the BR will be in Halo 4..

ps. and no freakin armor abilities this time..

  • 06.29.2011 8:00 AM PDT

Yes, there're too many numbers in my name.

There should never be anything not from Halo: CE implemented into Halo: Anniversary. But I wouldn't rule out a Battle Rifle in Halo 4.

  • 06.29.2011 8:07 AM PDT

I have no idea what they're saying....Smile and nod.

No,i hate using and getting shot by the BR on halo 3 its like the most boring and fustrating weapon in the halo franchise. But on the other hand i think the DMR is perfect in multiplayer,Its...how do i put this...Blanced and not overpowered

  • 06.29.2011 8:36 AM PDT

I love the entire Halo series, Halo 2 being my favorite of the games. I think that the universe is compelling and the story is deep, sweeping, and powerful. The hidden layers in the Halo trilogy and rich details of the backstory in the novels are something I love to be lost in, and im greatly looking forward to the story that Halo: Reach will weave. Bungie has carefully and lovingly crafted a mythic tale that will stay etched in my mind until the end.

the DMR is fine, it wrecks vehicles like they are made of paper.
you say that like it's a good thing...

It is, that way people without vehicles actually have a chance against vehicles, instead of being massacred.

Yea and now vehicles arent fun to drive now, derp. Im scared of a small caliber rifle ripping up my vehicle's armor plating. On top of the plethora of ways to kill a vehicle already.

Ehhhh, no.

The M392 DMR once saw more widespread use throughout all branches of the UNSC Defense Force, though it has been superseded by the BR55 Battle Rifle, especially since the latter weapon's heavy-barreled variant was introduced in 2548. Nonetheless, it is still fielded extensively by the Army.

  • 06.29.2011 10:30 AM PDT

I think that the DMR was a perfect, so was the bloom it let players be more accurate considering the fact the BR was random. They will not be bringing the BR to the Halo CE remake due to the fact that in the original CE there was no BR. 343 themselves have said that they are keeping the game the same but with better graphics. As for Halo 4 I would assume that the BR is making a return because it was in Halo 3 and this is based after Halo 3, so it would make no sense for it to not Halo 4.

""We meet again, young one. I am the last of those who gave you breath and shape and form, millions of years ago. I am the last of those your kind rose up and ruthlessly destroyed. And our answer is at hand."

No BR in CE. Maybe Halo 4.
