The Pistol is the H1 BR, just as the DMR is the Reach BR, know what I'm saying? They are all a slightly different version of the same weapon.

The H1 Pistol..... glorious overpowered monster. Hooray!

At long range the DMR is much better, no annoying burst. The BR is not that good. Plus, if you have the Halo CE pistol why would you want the BR?

Please use how to use grammar correctly, OP.

Anyways, I can't care less if the BR makes it Halo 4. But the BR will not be in Halo CEA.

Dear lord no.

I never want to have to live through endless BR spam again.

There was no BR in Halo Combat Evolved. It wasn't introduced until H2.

It wont be in Halo anniversary because it's going to use the same engine.

It should be in Halo 4 because it comes after Halo 2/3, and they both had the BR. Halo Reach didn't because it came before 1, and 1 didn't have the BR.

The Battle Rifle...in Halo:CE...*Shudders*

No need to "Fix" something thats not broken.

You know you play Halo too much when you hock a lugie in you girlfriends face and scream "BOOM HEADSHOT!" ;)

Okay, I'm going to set a quick record straight

The reason that the BR was not in Reach is because it wasn't as widely used as the DMR. Up until 2548, the DMR superseded all other Rifle type weapons. While TFoR doesn't take place until 2552, the DMR was still a preferred rifle due to it's increased power over the BR.

That aside, my problem with the BR not being in Halo 4 is that it was widely used in combat in Halo 3. Unless Halo 4 is further into the future than we believe (in which case the BR would most likely be obsolete) then I see no reason why the gun shouldn't make an appearance in Halo 4.

As for CE, I will say no, for 1 reason and one reason alone:
It wasn't in CE to begin with.

Halo CE Anniversary is a remake. It should contain no more than it initially did. Especially since the game (correct me if I am wrong) contains an option to switch on the older graphic setup for a more true CE feel. It would be stupid to not only add a new weapon to an already amazing game, but to have to give themselves more work to reincorporate it into the storyline with usage and everything? No, it wouldn't make sense and it would ruin the way the game played. There was no rifle style weapon for a reason.

Yes, there're too many numbers in my name.

I agree with you on Halo 4. As for Anniversary, I think the Pistol should seal its rightful place as the most powerful weapon in the game.

  • 06.24.2011 12:35 AM PDT

No, it definitely shouldn't be in CEA (it can't be in it anyway since they're using the same old game engine as the original game, just with improved graphics) because it wasn't in the original.

Now as for the BR in Halo 4...I don't care whether it comes back or not, but if it does I think it'll need a massive overhaul in how it works. It was too good in Halo 3, the other weapons were essentially made obsolete. Everyone always went for the BR and almost all the time every other ranged weapon would lose to it, sometimes even if the other party started shooting first. So yeah, if the BR returns I think it'll need a good overhaul in the way it performs.

  • 06.24.2011 2:16 PM PDT

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

I agree with Coma, the Battle Rifle should get an overhaul, possibly a downgrade to make it less overpowered, or, raise the damage that the other weapons do compared to the BR (I would prefer the first idea more though)

  • 06.24.2011 2:23 PM PDT

I don't see why we should have any weapons return for Halo 4. Instead, 343 Industries should focus on creating a new sandbox, compounded with new vehicles, weapons and features.

Halo 4 represents the beginning of a new trilogy - the start of something new. Perhaps we should take that literally.

  • 06.24.2011 2:29 PM PDT

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

I'm pretty sure the Dawn would still have weapons left from the Battle of the Ark, so that would be kinda foolish.

Well i know im off topic but even though bungie isn't making halo no more but 343 industries are but bungie failed when they made halo reach what happened to the official halo between halo 1 to 3 where absolutely great especialy halo 3 had the up to date graphics but halo reach went to the limit. Halo reach well okay they have great graphics but the most problems where the Replacement of the BR why the hell would you remove the best weapon plus the DMR is crap the br is great for long and short distances but the DMr goes all over the place until you get the hang of it but still that was better i hope 343 fix this at least by getting the br back and removing the DMR or at least keep both of them plus everyone i know has left halo reach after as few months as it wasn't fun as halo 3 use to be plus the ranks were useless if you see now only 1 or few has reached the highest rank after nearly a year only to make us soo like a geek to reach the highest rank i gave up till i reached general grade 4 still that was too much. all i see is the bad kids playing reach right now and more people are owning with the AR- assault rifle against the DMR. All im saying no br then no more halo for me or the other 100k + people in my youtube video that agreed. Plus im sticking to halo 3 till the end instead of the new halos if its going to be like

I wouldn't expect it for CEA but definitely for Halo 4. CEA is just supposed to be a graphical touch up with some extra easter eggs and goodies of sorts. Halo 4 would probably have the BR or something similar to it.

Chuck Norris.Period.

waaah waaaah the DMR takes to much skill, I dont like it waaah waaah. Thats honestly all im hearing from you BR kids.

Still using a pump-action shotgun over 500 years in the future I see.

omg not realistic stop game production plz

The Battle Rifle will be in Halo 4, because the DMR was obsolete by 2553 for the navy.

Thank god.

Bloom was one of the best things to happen to halo. The spread on the BR was all random, now you can control it.

Bungie should have just made it so that the BR had no spread. IMO, limited rate of fire is what balanced the BR. You had to wait for the three round burst to pass before you could fire again. Also, a player's overestimation of time it takes for the burst to pass adds to the delay before the next shot can be fired.
