I'm not much into the story as deep as some people. Thus im going to ask and see if anyone has any answer.

Does anyone know why the marine armor changed from the bulky brown armor to the green armor?

I can understand why from looking at it. It's bulky and the marines needed something lighter. However what is the story behind it? Or was it just a change never explained?

I don't want to hear that bungie made that change because they had the graphics to make it easier to work with or to bring in a new crowd.

Pretty much. They've drastically changed it from each Halo game to the next. The marines present at the end of Reach have somewhat more Halo 1-like dress than the Halo 2 and Halo 3 marines, but it's still very different.

Self-proclaimed genius.
Roam the streets with a sign, "will love for false hope."

I really hope the promo shots having all the Army Troopers using the same backpack, same armor, same helmet, and even the same face is just a placeholder. I think one way the classic graphics might be better is if 343 doesn't add Boonie Hats, Dew Rags, and armorless fatigues for the Troopers. In fact, the helmets shown aren't even using the eyepiece! I wont mind them using the Troopers as long as they keep the customization. Sergeants better have the patrol cap darn it!

If they are going to just use the same model then I will truly be shocked beyond belief if they do not use the Halo: Reach Marine model. It looks like Bungie designed it specifically for this! So if they don't match the Marine customization that Halo 1 originally had then I will be very disappoint. :(

Thankfully, we can still play with the old school graphics which still hold up well, so it's not too big of a deal. ^_^

"We shall name him... Steve..."

THEY (the guys in Reach) ARN'T MARINES, THEY'RE SOLDIERS!
343 IS BREAKING CANON BY a) USING THE ASSAULT RIFLE FROM REACH (different gun) AND b) USING SOLDIERS INSTEAD OF MARINES!
SOLDIER ARE REACHES PERSONAL DEFENCE! THEY NEVER LEFT REACH!
