Subject: Since the Forerunners 'Forgot' about the Precursor war...

I will help Bungie rule the world, just tell me when...

Bungie is TEH PWNZ ADN THEY WILL WINN TEH WORZ FORE WORLD DOMYNASHON!

Is it possible some other race (including the Precursors or Early , Early Humans) put a Geas on the Forerunners?

The Forerunners somehow killed off a whole race for the most part, yet they still follow the traditions (The Mantle, etc.) that was given to them by the enemy.

That doesn't make any sense, does it?

It was either the Humans that made them forget about the Precursors for some strange reason, or it was the Precursors themselves.

With the info we have at the moment, there would be no clear motive for either of them to do it. But how would the Forerunners FORGET being in a war with THEIR Forerunners.

Or the Forerunners are Precursors, but the Prisoner was just a Gravemind (Or a Flood Combat Form) lying to Bornstellar. It could be that the Forerunners just had a lie placed into their heads, and made it their past, when it never happened at all.

Just saying.

There's reason to believe the Prisoner was lying. For one, he's obviously a villain, never trust the villains, especially the Gravemind, and second, the Terminals sugggest instead of being wiped out, they went on the Great Journey.

It isn't hard to believe that somewhere down the line, Bornstellar/Didact learned something else about the Precursors' final fate.

And it is also a commonly held belief the Precursors imposed a geas on the Forerunners and maybe humanity. Forerunners definitely put one on us.

It never touched on the Forerunner-Precursor war.

And the hypocrisy of the Forerunners I'd actually put them as the aggressors.

The Prisoner was the only guy who ever touched on the Forerunner-Precursor War; he's what I call the Timeless One at the end of Cryptum. I said we should take his word with a grain of salt rather then just assume it to be true automatically just because someone said it was so.

Here's what I think happened:

Precursors were seeing the huge and sophisticated expansion of the Forerunner and see them as threatening. And the Forerunners wanted to flourish to their full potential, the Precursors seeing this were disgruntled and a little uneasy. So they try to shape them like the Librarian did but on a mass scale, also using force to do so.

The Forerunners rebelled and started a full scale genocidal war for the Mantle. The Precursors were devastated and wiped out, so the Forerunners became paranoid and acquired the Mantle.

With the Precursors wiped out, I'd don't think it would lie under those circumstances.

Mabye Halo 4 will touch more on this and dive into explaining the origin of the Forerunners.

The Mantle gives the owners the responsibility of protecting life in the galaxy (universe?). So what if The Mantle also gives the owners the power to protect life? Mabye it somehow contains extremely advanced technology or the method of how to create extremely advanced technology?

We should know better, because we are better.

Perhaps the Precursors sacrificed themselves for the Mantle? Perhaps they hoped that the genocidal war between the species would , for lack of a better word, force the Forerunners to accept the Mantle as a form of self imposed penance brought on by their guilt for having killed an entire species?

Perhaps, as a fail safe, many Precursors went into hiding to escape the war?

Just shooting in the dark here.
