Hasn't Bungie linked to it before?

I did a GeoIP lookup and it returned Scottsdale, Arizona...

Glass Galaxies - a theme for bungie.net

Per audacia ad astra. Halo Reach | Destiny

I reckon that this site would've been shot-down as being fake by an employee already, were that the case (as is generally done for fake ARG sites and similar). I definitely have my suspicions after reading this, but I still believe it's real.

Mourne not your comrades who must dwell / too strong to strive -
Within each steel-bound coffin of a cell, / Buried alive;
But rather mourne the apathetic throng / The cowed, and the meek -
Who see the world’s great anguish and its wrong / And dare not speak.

Now what you said about the IP being in the East Coast, remember a few months ago when it came out that, I think, the Bungie Aerospace Corporation was registered in Delaware?

Registering a corporation in Delaware is actually very common because of the way taxes and registration rules work there. It doesn't really have anything to do with any connection Bungie might have with the place.

It seems that godaddy offers server locations based on where you apply from, so it's possible that someone in or around arizona has something to do with this...

This is just a complete stab in the dark, but this public relations firm is located in scottsdale and provides web development services. A site hosted on godaddy is about the quality I'd expect if I contracted a PR firm to do a website for me.

Or maybe scottsdale is a just a large place with PR firms and server farms. >_>

Many have facilities based there for this reason.

I just did a traceroute and it appears to confirm that it's not on the east coast.

People will find connections and proof where none exist nor are to be found. If you look for connections, that's all you will find. I could have said it was actually in Canada and someone would have found a reason for that to make sense. All the facts, by themselves meaningless, together cast a great deal of doubt. I'm still going with fake.

But then again, if it was fake, wouldn't Bungie have already taken it down? Its been up for months and Bungie has yet to close it. They took down bungieaerospace.org rather quickly.

I'm on the fence with this one. I want to believe it is fake, but cannot considering how long it has been up.

If you can't beat them, try harder. Never join them.

Bungieaerospace.com has been around for about 1 1/2 - 2 years now (or thats when it was first brought to my attention)

Longer than any news from Bungie regarding anything about Aerospace.

Bungieaerospace.com hasn't exactly done anything wrong. It's like taking down Bungie.org. Because it's called Bungie.org.

Uhmmm, it uses the Bungie logo, which is trademarked.

Yes it does but Bungie are a community based company. So if they want to start cracking down on uses of their trademarks on community/fanmade sites, boy, they would lose a lot of their community anymore.

I only see site's being shut down when they are abusing the use of Bungie's trademarks. bungieareospace.com doesn't do that. Infact it does nothing.

One quick question, OP. Will anything I say to you or show to you change your mind? I would very much not like to sit here and scour the internet looking for reasons why you are WRONG.

All of those web domains were registered with GoDaddy as well. Are they fake too?

Yes there are things that change my mind. There are some points that make me doubt my view on the site.

Things like, how does the site owner/creator know what the logo would look like?

It was at the end of a BWU. Urk said "Per Audacia Ad Astra!" as a named hyperlink that linked to the site. It was a few months ago, I don't really feel like search for it.

Also, Apoc, the Bungie Aerospace site has always displayed the orange logo, when the trademark only displays the blue one. It has used the orange logo before Bungie started selling the shirts and such with the orange logo on them.

This is the only news I found like you said. Except it doesn't link to bungieaerospace.com.

Here is a thread on Bungie.org, Loius Wu makes a good point.

I tried to find those four domains. I got three of them, registered and hosted with GoDaddy with the same third-party domain place. However they are all parked pages, no actual site. And there's nothing special about being with either that third-party place or GoDaddy that suggests they are legit, I've seen them both around a lot before.

Edit: Aww I was beaten to the same point.
