ever since halo 1 in 2001 i thought it would be awesome to fight side by side with some of the best warriors humanity has seen. In the books they make Spartans out as super lethal killing machines, and there supposed to be much faster than they are in reach, among other things.

does anyone else feel like the spartans just didnt live up to the image the novels put in our heads?

PEANUT-BUTTER SLAP!

Except for the Arbiter in Halo 3, Bungie's friendly AI has never been very good.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Uhhh...I was more then disappointed with the entire game...

i think even with the current engine they could have made the spatans more bad ass

No, because the gameplay AIs can never compare to descriptions from the book or things we see in the cutscenes/trailers. And also if the AI were as good as Spartans should be in the books then the player wouldn't have the chance to do anything and the game would be waaaaaaaay too easy.

"The measure of a man is what he does with power"-Plato

They made the SPARTANs too human.

I never got that vibe from the SPARTANs that they are supposed to be super human part-mythical killing machines. The only one that did seem lethal was Jorge.
