Subject: releaseing haunted helmet with blue flames on bungie day

Bungie.net is the only website that has been able to hold my interest for such a long period of time, and I can only imagine there are still many years to come.

Firstly, I must commend you for living up to your name (aptly selected I see).I have a question for you Rage; why let what someone on an internet forum says get you angry? It isn't worth it, especially when you misinterpret what they say.

I didn't say we should drag them from their dens and force them to engage with other human beings (the horror) rather I said someone should talk to them about the direction they're life is headed in because one, it isn't healthy, and two, we as fellow human beings shouldn't let others go down paths that will make them worse off if it is within our power to do something about it.

In regards to the rewards, I suggest you reread what I said. Then again, actually debating me off of what I said as opposed to what you interpreted me as saying would actually be the more difficult of the two paths wouldn't it? Feel free to keep playing into the straw man fallacy though. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't amused.

I have misinterpreted nothing, I have read your opinions and commented on them. If you believe that I have some how misinterpreted your opinions I suggest you learn how to phrase what you say a bit more carefully, or perhaps better yet tell me what you feel I have misinterpreted.

Where did I say you were dragging people out of their 'dens'? You stated in your first response "if they actually did it legitimately, a stern talking to about the life they choose to lead and why it shouldn't include playing Halo Reach for 12 hours a day." I responded to that directly, nothing I said was taking any of that out of context.

Here is some quick math:
-Reach was released ~9 months ago, let us say to make it easy in those 9 months they were all 30 days in duration.
-Now I take those 30*9 = 270 days
-Lets say I play 2 hours a day, 2*270 = 540 hours
-Now how many days would that be, 540/24 = 22.5 days
-Now lets see how much I have played approx., ~3.7 days.
-Now if we multiply the number of credits I have earned which is ~1 million (not sure what it is to get to my level) by 22.5/3.7 = 6.08. That is over 6 million credits IF YOU ONLY PLAYED 2 HOURS A DAY!

Well would you look at that. We all know hours are never consistent, especially on weekends so expect the average to increase on weekends by a few hours and the total credits rises even more. If someone could be half way to inheritor off 2 hours a day before they go to bed. Well then I am sorry it is reasonable for some people to be close to inheritor.

Also sure I will re-read what you said, "They are unlockables in a video game, which is, oddly enough, something you're supposed to play for entertainment as opposed to the promise of a reward."

I think I read it fine, but if you think I misinterpreted it I suggest you learn to phrase your opinions so people don't misinterpret them.

Lastly, I hope you are able to one day able to cure society of their addiction/obsession/reliance on video games. I wish you the best of luck, you will need it.

P.S: In regards to my user name I made this account at the end of 2004, a lot has changed since then but you are right. If someone is going to start criticizing ones life choices you better expect a response, perhaps even some 'rage'. Har har!

No.

Haunted Helmet can be given at the rank Inheritor. There is not reason to get it early.

And Legendary Armor Effect is limited to Legendary Edition Halo Reach.

They are giving blue flames to everyone on Bungie Day. It was stated in the last weekly update.
He said Legendary, not Eternal.

This. The inheritors worked for their armor, I wouldn't want Bungie to give away the haunted helmet if I worked for it.

As much as I hate the "I deserve it just for the sole fact that I'm me. Give it to me now!" attitude of these things, I hate equally the implied premise that these were rewards one had to "work" for. They are unlockables in a video game, which is, oddly enough, something you're supposed to play for entertainment as opposed to the promise of a reward.
Agree with this wholly.
