Ok, so I have heard this floating around every where and I am going to clarify in case microsoft thinks it has been going in the right direction the past few years for Halo.
What made Halo 1 good WAS the pistol. To anyone who says the Battle Rifle is the pistol... that is wrong... the name change i feel is a dead give away in and of itself. Halo currently stands as a game of, "rush in," "camp,"and "over powered weapons." The main strategy of this game (and everyone knows this) is pick up an overpowered weapon and camp with it. I am good at this game along with my brothers... but it doesn't take skill. It makes every game king of the hill.
People say that the Halo 1 pistol was over powered. NO IT WASN'T. It stabilized the game. IF you were bad with the pistol (aka bad at aiming) you were bad at the game... and people are surprised by this? The better you were during times of pressure at aiming the better you did. AKA everyone has the means to do equally as well as others... they just don't because they lack the SKILL to do so. So... no the weapon was not overpowered. The shot gun could be used in up close quarters, and the sniper for far away, and plasma pistol to slow people down... It was balanced... except for the needler i suppose... there wasn't a real point in that spiked bad boy.
Anyways... Let me just say that all of the key words I listed above were NO WHERE FOUND in Halo 1. The one word to describe Halo 1 is, "aim," "DONT CHARGE IN" or you will die from a frag grenade p.s. frag grenades need to be improved so people will stop charging in.... i mean common really? a game where charging in can ever be a strategy is lame... Refer to other games where transforming into a jet and ramming people was the main strategy...)
So to make this brief, I am in the process of making a website... to anyone who believes that the Halo 1 pistol should be brought back to Halo 4 and if possible Halo Reach Custom mode leave a post! And if you don't want it back... I am unsure of what to say other then I have nothing prepared for you other then a shrug of my shoulders and a sigh.
