Fable is a rental.

to me..IT'S A PIECE OF -blam!-
KOTOR 2, KOTOR 2,...

Go to gamespot and check out the kotor 2 screens. The level environments look like they were put together by a four year-old who just figured out the map editor for Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast.

What are you talking about? Fable? Fable comes out on the 14th. That's 13 days from now.

Yes, and 3 months ago Fable didn't look nearly as bad as KOTOR 2 does now.

My point, since you choose to willfully ignore it (no one can be that stupid on accident), is that when you compare both of them at the same amount of time from each of their respective releases, Fable looks, in every aspect, better.

I am not a StarWars hater, I am, in fact, a StarWars fanboy. I really liked Kotor 1. Unlike you, however, I am looking at both Kotor 2 and Fable realistically - so far you have demonstrated little knowledge of either game. Your decision that Kotor 2 is better than Fable and that "Fable sucks" not only shows your dualistic way of thinking, but how simple-minded you are. You have based your decision purely on the fact that Kotor 2 is the game proceeding Kotor 1, and that it's a Star Wars title.

Open up in two windows screenshots from Kotor 1 and Kotor 2. Compare the two. Even the way the levels are put together and designed is inferior. The environments are impractical and bland, the characters are dull - in the videos, even 3 months from release, you can see a great many problems with clipping, bad textures, and general animation/graphical slop.

3 months?

A year would do it. Three months is hardly any time, especially considering the game needs to be finished well before ship date.

I know. Kotor 2, unlike Kotor 1, isn't even made by the same guys. Bioware is off doing Jade Empire.

Kotor 1 was great - it's almost imporbable that Kotor 2 will even get half the awards Kotor 1 got, let alone be able to compare with Fable.

why don't u like Fable. I've never played KoToR, and I have no desire to. What's so great about it (as well) So I can hear both sides of the story, instead of two biased people duking it out.

It's different.

Moral system? Far superior to Kotor.
Graphical environments? They're different. Fable feels like a fantasy land, and Kotor feels like starwars. They're different, but both are excellent.
Story? No big plot twists like in Kotor. Fable is beaten.
Customizability, replayability? Fable is much, MUCH superior. You get more bang for your buck with all you can do.
Combat system? They're both much different. Fable plays like an action game, Kotor like a RPG - you can't compare them in that aspect.
Depth, findable items, backstory? Fable wins. From the Fable reviews they say there is a tremendous amount of backstory - in Kotor there is hardly any explanation as to why things are the way they are since it's so far back in the StarWars history.

Kotor is a liniar roleplaying game with two ending plot options. Fable is much, much more free - and in that sense plays much better as an RPG.

Another thing, from the reviews you know that the Fable world is very, very interactive. The AI is great and really makes you feel like you're in a functioning world - because in reality you are.

Kotor, on the other hand, doesn't. Everyone is in their pre-set places. Cities feel like large scripted areas. It keeps you from truly getting lost in the illusion both games try to present.

i've been a star wars fan boy since i saw the movies
i already have an ep. III t-shirt

Obbi "claims" to be one
but if he was one he would pick KOTOR 2 over any other rpg's

I don't because I'm not narrow-minded. I can see things for what they are without letting my like for a certain title (star wars) get in the way.

i'm saying that it will never win any where near 35 game of the year awards
even if you do exclude halo2
it still wouldn't

So, since you are a fan boy, you are obviously biased to everything else. Like people in the forums about Halo2... (I love it, but it isn't the only great game comin' out) I'm not a fan boy of Starwars, but I heard KoToR has nothing to do with the original story of the movies, so I don't know. Never played it, never had the urge to get it. But from what I've heard thus far (from Flamechu) is that you like it/ got it because you are a fan boy to Starwars (omg, just don't send pictures of you as a Jedi or Darth Vader, PLEASE!!)

Yes it would. When Halo 2 is out of the picture Fable steps up as one of the most promising game of this year, next to San Andreas.

Racing games rarely get any sort of recognition when compared to FPSs and action adventure games. They might for their own respective genre, but rarely does it transcend that.

star wars: battle front

It's a shooter made for the PS2.

'nuff said.

madden '05

Same goes for sports games as does racing games.

prince of persa 2

A promising game, however, it suffers largely from a lack of multiplayer and a very linear story mode. It has very little replayability, which is a huge factor in deciding the game of the year.

resident evil 4

It looks decent.
