Racing games rarely get any sort of recognition when compared to FPSs and action adventure games. They might for their own respective genre, but rarely does it transcend that.
star wars: battle front
It's a shooter made for the PS2.
'nuff said.
madden '05
Same goes for sports games as does racing games.
prince of persa 2
A promising game, however, it suffers largely from a lack of multiplayer and a very linear story mode. It has very little replayability, which is a huge factor in deciding the game of the year.
resident evil 4
It looks decent.

fable's a rpg
It's a hybrid. It's an adventure game at heart, with evolving character statistics making up for the rpg portion.
As for the PS2 thing, you misunderstand. When games are made for the PS2 they are dumbed down so that, when on the PS2 port, it's able to run. You will never see huge environments such as those to be found in Halo 2 on a PS2 game. If Halo released on both the PS2 and Xbox you'd see a much smaller version of it.
And, since Star Wars: Battlefront IS a war game, a sense of scale and scope are very important. You can't have a 'famous battle' from the movies going on if you're very limited on the number of friendlies you can have.
