Subject: Mysterious object: Covenant Supercarrier?

I am the 21st century Jim Jones

I believe that that the mysterious object may possibly be the launch bay of a Covenant Supercarrier for a couple of reasons.

#1 You can see a few similarities between the the launch bay of the of The Long Night of Solace and object in question.

#2 If it were a Forerunner construct, it would have no immediate interest in assaulting a destroyed piece of a UNSC Vessel as it is not directly threatening whatever the construct would be protecting. However, a belligerent Covenant fleet might especially considering that hostilities between factions continued well after the war.

#3 Though some aspects of the object in comparison to the supercarrier may be different, this could be a result of a graphical overhaul. Elites look incredibly different in Reach than they did in Halo 3 and 2 along with Brutes and other aspects of the game.

I'm not saying that this is 100% truthful because I might be wrong, but it is a possibility. In fact, I hope it is because I hope there is a lot of Covenant this time around.

So where did the legendary planet go then?

Possibly it could still be there. It is definately Forerunner, therefore Covenant Loyalists would have a huge interest in it. Perhaps prompting them to send fleets upon its discovery?

Maybe someone else will be able to find a better picture...

The picture that I see there is the ass-end of UNSC Forward Unto Dawn hurdling towards a massive celestial body. I don't think that you're idea that the light in the trailer is the cargo bay of a Covenant Supercarrier is a valid one, sorry.

It's the legendary planet and the Forward unto Dawn was simply burning up in atmosphere..if you go to xbox.com you will see that same scene but from a different view.

darn..someone beat me to it

I really don't think the covenant will be involved in Halo anymore, honestly. It seems like all that was pretty well wrapped up at the end of Halo 3. Brutes probably warred themselves into extinction, Prophets currently number in the thousands so they'll be gone soon. Elites, Jackals, grunts and the rest just sorta went their own separate ways, and their false war with humanity had been exposed and ended anyways,.

also, we have to remember that at the end of Halo 3 John was stranded in INTERGALACTIC SPACE. He was almost an entire galaxy's width OUTSIDE of the galaxy when the Ark was destroyed. I don't think anybody other than other forerunner/precursor tech is out there

if that picture is too scale, that looks like a rather small planet, clearly artificial, could be a ship of some sort mind. though would be willing to say its more than likely the Legendary planet, though it does look small judging how small a Frigate is and how one can see the curvature of the world quite well while the Frigate occupies a fairly large portion of the sky.

But there are Forerunners there. MB has sent MC to the Forerunners as proof that he has changed. I doubt the Forerunner would take kindly to Covenant retards invading their space.
