Good players work together...and no matter how good you are, you're not physic. - blade6321

The Joystiq article. Who knows? Maybe it's just for navigating the menu. Maybe it's for voice commands issued to marines! Maybe they just want you to have a nice conversation with Cortana. The fact is, people are going to riot over this, even though the functionality of Kinect in this game hasn't been announced yet. Let's just wait and see, shall we?

We’re flawed because we want so much more. We’re ruined because we get these things and wish for what we had.

I don`t think CE will have Kinect functionality but Halo 4 will.

Never give up, never surrender!

They already told us that they are using the exact engine used in the original game, so it can't be gameplay related. probably just to navigate the main menu.

I really don't think that's supposed to trick you. It's just to get the point across. Halo on the screen, and a guy making kinect motions.

But, I call shenanigans. It's the original Halo. If there is kinect support, it's going to be as subtle as a motion activated control scheme. Nothing like pinpoint accuracy or anything. It would be nothing impressive.

I'm agent Nahman Jayden, eff-bee-eye.

I really don't see how people can call it fake because "it's the CE engine"

Also, inb4KinectHaters

Gameplay won't be touched. Kinect is optional.

There are way too many commands that you can use on the controller in the blink of an eye, that it would take you 10 minutes to shout out a list of commands.

Kinect will NEVER be able to cope with fast action FPS's.

EXACTLY Try playing paintball in kinect deca sports, yea, hard as hell, ESPECIALLY when you have to standing in a certain position just to ****ING HOLD STILL!

Recon..??

I really don't want kinect for halo 4...I hope its optional

  • 06.21.2011 10:25 AM PDT

Don't hate the player, learn by them.

'Lets not "jump" to conclusions?' -lol.

But yes, Kinnect is for kids. If I wanted to play tennis, I would play Tennis. If I wanted my own pet Tiger, I would get one.

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

They are using the same engine and the same gameplay so the game won't be negatively affected. If anything this could mean some cool extra features, saying no to extra features would make you pretty dumb.

I think it may have something to do with the terminals around the campaign because im sure i heard frank oconner say there was a new way to interact with them. But it wont be anything gameplay related i hope to see kinect enabled forge for reach as i think there will be an update for reach to remove amour abilities for the classic CE multiplayer game mode experience and kinect functionality in forge :D

  • 06.22.2011 7:19 AM PDT

It's optional 'cause I told Moneysoft that I had no money for kinect.

  • 06.22.2011 7:37 AM PDT

Based on the Kinect Fun Labs stuff, what if they recorded you and turned you into an AI. Obviously, you wouldn't be as hot as Cortana. :P

It could be kind of a fun thing to do. As you play you're little character will show up from time to time as a blue hologram.

I was more worried about them adding extra features in exchange for better core gameplay options. Countless games have been ruined because the developer opted to put emphasis on motion controls rather than deliver a solid controller based experience.

My hopes? Moving your Spartan via Kinect. We'll never have the Red vs Blue CGI stuff, but I want to make the Master chief scratch his ass after killing a Grunt.

Don't be so discouraged. That's actually 100% possible right now, now that they have finger tracking and facial expressions. But the Kinect's biggest hurdle for a game like that is how the hell can you base a competitive multiplayer experience around people who make imperfect motions? I think a good analogy would be the competition between a mouse/keyboard and a controller. Sure, the controller can get the job done but it's infinitely more accurate than the human body, unless of course you've had training.
