Watching this cutscene from Halo 3...

Miranda's Death

Why didn't Truth stay on his Gravity Throne?

It is said that the High Prophets possess versions which are equipped with a shield impervious to all small arms fire. It is also equipped with a modified version of the Mgalekgolo Assault Cannon. This weapon is called the Gravity Cannon.

If he had stayed on, he could have possibly had the power to defeat Chief and the Arbiter's forces considering it can kill even a fully shielded SPARTAN with only a brief discharge.

So yes, why do you think Truth didn't get back on and use his Gravity Throne to his advantage?

So you'd rather let that bastard live and not have Halo 3 to ever end?

The throne got hit by the pelican. Most likely went over the edge.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

He was on his knees praying. Sitting during a sermon is probably considered sinful or something.

Well, he was sitting in when Miranda crashed her Pelican. That wouldn't make sense. The most logical answer was that he got off and shot Miranda. Thus the Throne still intact.

Intact, but over the edge. He could have easily been thrown from the throne on the impact.

If memory is right, the throne isn't even in the area when you arrive, so it had to go over the edge.

Chief beat Regret, Truth would've met the same fate.

You were totally and absolutely correct in every way, I don't know why we were arguing, you're so amazing I should never have doubted you.

Chief beat Regret, Truth would've met the same fate.
That was in a large area with cover. Against Truth it would've been more like the battle against Guilty Spark, with him and the Arbiter just getting pummeled with lasers until Johnson intervened.

This, along with Brute support.

Except from prior experience with Regret, you don't need Johnson to intervene. Dodging both Regret's and 343's beams were a utter joke. The only reason the Chief got hit in the first place against Spark was because he ran at him in a straight line and was subsequently shot point blank while still on his knees. Arbiter was taken by surprise by Spark's beam as well. In regards to Truth he wouldn't fare any different than Regret did. Cover and the need for a Spartan laser are not an issue for the Chief. More so because unlike Regret, Truth does not have reinforcements to support him. If anything Truth would have gone down faster than Regret had should he have had to battle the Chief as Regret had.

Edit: Also what Brute support, Mojeda? Truth had none left. He has no wave of reinforcements to help him out like Regret and Tartarus has. He was stranded on a platform with just himself and two Brutes whilst the Chief, Arbiter, and a wave of flood come at him. Seeing how well Mercy fared against flood forms in his chair it's clear that it would've been a moot point for him to get in it. He'd still be screwed by the flood before the Chief and Arbiter got there even.
