So I am actually asking if it's official BUT I'm also asking how many people believe it as an official part of the bungie universe?

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

Yes Cryptum is canon. We can't just throw these things out the window because we don't like them. People just can't chip up and take apart pieces of official Halo merchandise because they don't like it. I can't just say, "I didn't like Halo 2. It never happened!". It doesn't work like that.

Except the Star Wars prequels. THEY AREN'T CANON.

I understand and I agree. I personally think it's wonderful, BUT though it is wrong to just ignore parts of any story, people DO do that, I am afraid to say.

My opinion matters not (to speak in Yoda's words, since SW has already been mentioned).

Its official so its canon. Also: it was a great book, so I don't have any problems at all with it being canon.

(and SW prequels aren't that bad. They're just not as good as the original series. Don't make them out to be horrible movies because quite frankly: they aren't. Also: RoTS was epic as hell)

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

You ever see the Phantom Menace? Yup, not a single good thing about that steaming pile of fecal matter.

OT: Canon is not dictated by individual opinion, it is what it is.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Why wouldn't it be? It is canon. Nobody can change that, except the creators.

Sure, watched it a lot of times. Nothing good? Qui Gon, Pod Racing, Maul, fight against Maul, looked incredibly good.
Sure: the weakest of the SW movies, but not a bad movie taken out of its SW context.
Besides: I started watching SW movies from PM on, so I don't have a nostalgic bias to the orignal Trilogy (which is better, however. Although RoTJ was meh and RoTS was a lot more fun than that one)

But enough off topic ;)

This again? :/

Of course it is, anything published by Bungie/343i or sanctioned by them and given their blessing is very much canon, unless they've stated otherwise (such as the Halo Legends episode Odd One Out). Doesn't matter whether people like it or not (this is not addressed to you OP or really anyone in particular), their only choice is to accept it and move on, or be ridiculed to varying degrees by the rest of the fanbase.

And now slightly off-topic. I think the same holds true for any other story universe, as long as they hold anyway, the words of that story's creator are law, whether we like it or not, and yes that includes the Prequel Trilogy of Star Wars, and they're no where near as bad or god awful as anyone says, especially from a story standpoint, there's nothing really wrong with them there. Maybe some slight bit in the way Lucas executed the story for the screen, but there is not really anything wrong with the story itself. My only complaints with those three movies is really with the acting and George Lucas' directing job.

And since we're talking about Cryptum I return slightly to the topic, in the words of one of the Didact's War-Sphinxes, if you don't like it, then "Suck it up, Manipular" ;P (just an attempt to throw a bit of humor out there please don't take it too personally if you don't like the Star Wars Prequels, I didn't mean any malice by the comment).
